PLEASE!!

The president of the company that I work for is retiring in December and that is creating a few promotions. As a result someone in the department that I work in will be a manager of a different dept. His old job, which is 2 levels higher, then mine might be tough for me to get because we are union and job postings go by class and seniority. I am going to sign for the job anyway but I really don’t want that one. What I do want is the position of part-time computer operator that will be vacated after he takes this new manager job. I desperately need a part-time job and this one is just perfect for me and the money is very good!
I don’t know if anyone who has a higher class or more seniority then me is going to sign but that does not always mean that they will get the job. Wish me luck because I could certainly use it!

I really hope that this is the job for me. There are a few things that aren't that great about it but they don't really bother me. One of them being that if the person who is supposed to work that night calls out or leaves sick that day then I have to cover for them. I don't think type of job would appeal to many people with kids so I think that I might have a chance because not many people will sign for the job. Also the job is at the building that I work in already. I would not even have to travel. I doubt that some people that work across the state would want to travel back to Providence and then travel back home again.
It also would interfere with my vacation plans, as I have to work around the other 4 people that do this job. That means if The Mac tour next year I won’t be as flexible to go to many shows. As it stands right now I am so broke that even if they came here to Providence I wouldn’t be able to see them. As least with some $ in my pocket I can work around the tour schedule. I don’t have to work weekends, which is good. I will have to work New Years Eve, which doesn’t bother me. I would much rather make $$ then go out and party.
The posting has to stay up for 5 full days so with the holiday this Monday I think next Monday the 17th I will find out. I also have to be interviewed and I think that they might ask me some computer questions so I am going to dust off my old books this weekend.
