Letter to HOF Foundation - taking suggestions

Hey Ledgies,

I'm writing a letter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. They're the ones who nominate artists to be inducted. I'm spelling out all the reasons why I think they should induct Stevie as a solo artist. I know you guys are all very knowledgeable and well spoken so I'm asking for input. I already have two pages written but I'm sure someone can come up with something to add. Serious responses only please. I enjoy your humor but I want this to be professional, not some slobbery fan letter.

Thanks,
Tara

No worries just yet. She's not eligible until next year, or are you starting the campaign early?

She is, as well, already a member. Do artists get inducted as part of a group AND as solo acts? Genuinely wondering... I don't have an exhaustive list of inductees at my fingertips, nor do I have time to go do the research right now.

Let's work on getting Bob Welch inducted as a member of Fleetwood Mac FIRST, then worry about Stevie after THAT's accomplished.

Yes...

Eric Clapton is the only (so far) three-time inductee. As a member of The Yardbirds and Cream; and, as a solo artist.

3 of the 4 Beatles (poor Ringo :o ) are inducted as solo artists as well as Beatles.

an idea may be to send a list of people who would like to see this happen (along with the letter) if you got a big enough list it would be pretty impresive, but all the ledgies obvioulsy can not sighn the same paper, so we would have to come up with a verification process so the HOF know that the names belong to real people...ill think on it...

I think sending a letter urging them to nominate anybody is a sure-fire way to put their nomination on the backburner til nobody cares anymore. I wouldn't do it.

Jimmy Iovine's.
Bruce Springsteen's.
Billy Joel's.
Madonna's. ( yeah - uh good luck with THAT one! )
Anybody else you can think of.

And e-mail The Kinney..... Ask if he has any suggestions.
Maybe Taku too, he's very Approachable.

Nope, she was eligible this time around. 2006. Nominees were already announced.

Yes, there are several people inducted as part of a band and as solo artists, like Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney.

She wasn't. This class is termed "The Class of 1980."

I thought of that and was going to post it somewhere online so people could paste it and add their signatures. First I thought I'd see what kind of responses I got.

That wouldn't be very professional of them.

If that's the case, at least I might put a bug in their ears.
