I've never really thought of Dreams as an R&B song.

Yeah...and I don't think Creem readers really actuallly know or listen to R&B.

well Dreams DOES kinda have an R&B feel to it.. esp the original Rumours album version.

Chris

I think so too - even Dallas Austin noticed as much when he said "even old '70s Fleetwood Mac tunes like Nicks' Rhiannon and Dreams have a R&B groove running through them." http://fmlegacy.com/steviestrouble.htm

Speaking of Dallas Austin...does anyone know if the tracks he produced for TISL have ever been circulated? Or was there anything even recorded?

Chris

Not enough to call it an R&B single or Nicks an R&B singer (which I found hilarious).

I'd venture to say she's as "R&B" as David Bowie, Peter Wolf and Rod Stewart. ;)

But you're just cranky because she trounced Debbie in two categories.

Hee. Considering Nicks was named an R&B singer, I'll consider the sources. ;)

Neither would I. Wouldn't call Stevie an R&B singer either. But she was at least as deserving of the title as her competition was.

Where were The Eagles in this poll? Weren't they huge at that time too? Just curious.

They were in a couple of categories, but the Creem readership generally really hated the Eagles -- much like the Rolling Stone readership (& staff) at the time.

Really? Why? Were they considered too AC, even at that time?
