Kirstie Alley "Jenny Craig" Commercial.

Has anyone seen the latest Kirstie ad for her weight loss with Jenny Craig products? Now I am not detracting from her weight loss. It appears she IS losing weight on this program. What I am stunned at is the apparent use of some sort of photograhic "stretching" technique! I was looking at her head and thinking "How LONG can someone's face get on a diet! And doesn't her whole head look long and skinny too!?" It's so obvious that either something went VERY wrong with the filming of the ad *cough* or they "helped" Kirstie's new body along a bit.

I saw the commercial... I didn't notice that though.

I think she looks fabulous and losing 50 pounds is quite an accomplishment. I will say that she still looks a tad too heavy to be doing the Jenny Craig commercials. She looks great compared to how she looked last year, but she still has a tiny bit of a tummy to be pushing a weight loss program already. However, since everyone knows how overweight she used to be, I guess it is okay to have her as the spokesperson since we can compare to all the old pictures from the tablpids last year.

Rumour has it that she's consulted with a gastroentologist and is going to go ahead and have her stomach stapled.

I did notice something was really strange about that commercial but couldn't put my finger on it. I love Kirstie though. I think she is gorgeous no matter what size she is.

BTFLCHLD 09-06-2005 11:52 PM

she claims to be a size 4

Well, after all, these ads are "progress reports." We've been watching her weight go down with each one. So no one goes on a diet and has a firm stomach immediately. You can see she's lost weight from her upper body, and being a woman I can tell yah we store fat from the waist down. We can give her some more time to burn that off. So that part of the ads are quite realistic. It's that ~elongated head~ thing that irks me! She looks like she's in one of those funny mirrors at the fair. Next time the ad comes on, pay attention to her head. :) I guess having her stomach stapled would preclude her from doing anymore Jenny ads! Naturally she didn't say a word about that on her last "Oprah" appearance. Hee! :D

Wow, she's saying that? In the ad, she strikes me as a 24, probably. She certainly doesn't look bad to me, but it annoys me when people lie about that kind of stuff.

I think those ads are crappy and they annoy the hell out of me, but I didn't notice the elongated head. I'll have to watch for that...

I'd say she's in an 18/20. A size 24 is very, very large. A lady would have to be over 300 pounds to wear a 24 and she's not that.

Ouch, I just busted a rib. I'm a freakin' midget (5 feet 1 inch) and I am a size 10 and that's with stretch jeans. LOL

Here is a progress report from Kirstie from a few months ago. She claims to wear a Medium and be a size six in it. That makes no sense to me because my Mom, who is a very tiny lady at less then 130 pounds, is a size six and clearly Kirstie is a lot bigger then she is....

Friday, May 6

Here's the great news - body fat down 17%*, 26 ¼ inches* lost, from just the bust, waist and hips!

My clothing size is down from XL to medium and from 14-16 to 6-8*. Yup, I bought 2 size 6 skirts yesterday. (Although, I think the sizes are now sort of tampered with to make women feel better). But 8 is definitely real - six? By this summer that will be real too!

I'm going on Oprah on May 11th - the show won't air then but that's when we shoot it - Oprah is documenting my weight loss on Jenny Craig and talking about my book - that should be fun! My consultant, dear ole Bill (God Love him) is going to be in the audience at Oprah - Bill, like I'e said before, is my saving grace. He's so darn funny – he could do stand up.

What else is happening? I've been traveling around the country like a maniac. Spring Break with my kids - Disney World!! Tip of the month; "Do not eat cotton candy and then go on Space Mountain!!" Certain foods don't work for me anymore - like cotton candy! Calories are low but the sugar content is so high! Oh My! My head felt like I was wearing a steel clamp!

I gave a speech in Boston last week- It was really fun and tons of women commented that they too were doing Jenny Craig and that the pounds were flying off! All of these women looked bright and so alert!! Sometimes you see people dieting and they are grumpy and low energy - ooh, they sort of lose their personality. Not so with us Jenny girls - Heck no! We have enough energy to light up the neighborhood and our skin and our hair looks pink and healthy - well, our hair doesn't look pink, but you get the drift! The very best thing that's happening to me is I now feel about 28 years old! No more sluggish 4 o'clock "nap time" no more - moving like Grandma Gerty. My daughter said "Ma Ma you run down the stairs now - you used to walk like this" then she did a turtle impersonation of me grandma-ing it down the steps! Slightly humiliating! No totally humiliating! However . . . I'm fast again, really fast!! Like a rocket, zoom, zoom but I'm buying too many clothes. The only disadvantage to slimming down is that nothing fits - remember I gave away all my clothes? Well now, even the new clothes I bought two months ago are too big! Great problem except for the pocket book! (pocket book - that's funny like 1941 lingo).

Anyway - I'm excited to go to Chicago to do Oprah and even more excited to continue on to my final weight loss goals. We're in this together and man are we looking Hot!

Oh yea, all my 10 friends on Jenny Craig? They've lost a bizillion pounds too - Some of them, my sister and my friend Robyn have lost even more than me and I sort of HATE them for that - But they sort of inspire me too! So "good on ya" for losing even more than me, Ya Haters!

Love,
Kirstie

And sewed them together. That's the part she left out. :p That's mean I know. :woohoo: But we women know sizes, and I think even Rosie O'Donnell asked her who she was trying to kid. She does women a disservice with this type of commentary, I think. I once knew a woman at work who stored her box of Jenny Craig meals under her desk. She went away on holiday and came back to find all the boxes empty. A mouse had eaten all the food! We never did see the mouse's figure or how svelte it'd become on his or her new diet! :p From what I gathered, it's all "food" one adds water to and then eats. Sounds gross to me. But if it works then hey that's cool. *Keeping* the weight off is the hard part! I know!!
