Does anyone have an mp3 of Space Needle they could send me. It is the only TISL demo/outtake that i don't have. If someone could send me the mp3 of Space Needle, I would really appreaciate it!

hooboy, this is a good number. one of her best. deep, dark, heavy stuff.

Hey, cat, could you send it to me too? I've never heard it before, but I've heard from some people it's really good!

There is an edited version I prefer only because it is not as monotonous. You see, I think Space Needle is a "good" song, but not a "great" song. This is not to say I don't like the other..it's just too long. If it were a "great" song, I would not have a problem with the length (i.e, Sara). ;)

..
Spac Needle is by far her best TISL demo, one of her best demos ever. Actually its to me the best candidate to be on an album, becasue she could really pull it off unlike say If You Were My Love or Mistaken Love. Space Needle would be awseome on record and LIVE, Id just love for it to be in a Fleetwood Mac show replacing Landslide as the Lindsey Stevie only song. I know that is just not gonna happen, but like i said its just a hope.

huh, I dont know of that version. What do they cut out. is it a completely different take, or a home made edit.

I found it somewhere on line. I think the verse missing verse begins with "We gotta get out of this place....", which I believe is the second to the last verse in the song.

oh man, losing that bridge would be a shame. the melancholy, desperate qualities of that line is vital to the overall overcast, charcoal colored nature of this song. the obtuse tar-people line (an opiate reference most likely) makes it strangely topical and timeless in one shot. this is a song that in my opinion should be UNCHANGED. the sparse, echo-y production plays perfectly with the open, spacious melody and the over all lonely nature of the lyric. it is remarkable to hear the evolution of Stevie songs and even the overall unchanged nature of many great ones. the Buckingham Nicks live Sorcerer and Rhiannon both have changed little in melody. Granted the BN Riannon did change a bit in lyric. The Beauty and the Beast discussion with Tom Petty showed the embryonic melody and lyric that remained fairly intact. The lady knows what she likes. such lyrics are little window into her mental clockworks, and safe to say, it isn't easy being Stevie.

I don't think she will ever record "Space Needle".. there seems to be a certain mood she was in when that song was written that i don't believe she can connect with at this point in her life... in my opinion, it should have replaced "It's Only Love" on TISL, because it would have fit right in with the theme of the album and the flow of the record... if it was gonna make it on a album, 2001 was the year.. "Thrown Down" and "Not Make Beleive" were different in the sense that they were more abstract and could be interpreted in several ways.. "Space Needle", much like "That Made Me Stronger" is too literal...

i would still love to see it on an album one day though..
