"i'm an insider"

I just bought the Tom Petty album with Insider on it and can't get enough of this song. How heartbreakingly beautiful. Stevie sounds like she's on the verge of tears in her harmony. *swoon*

She does. I've grown to really adore that song. I think it's the best duet she did with him.

Hands down! I think it's her best duet evahhh! Oh wait, the Kenny Loggins duet was super good! JUST KIDDING! I totally hate that song! "Whenever I call you pussy!"

I've only heard the live version of "Insider" and I fell in love with it instantly. It is my favorite Stevie duet period. I love at the end of the love version when Tom goes "Stevie Nicks" and the crowd goes crazy. Her voice is so vulnerable and there is so much emotion between the two of them. I just love her voice in there! Seriously one of the most beautiful songs ever. I'd like to hear the album version if anyone would like to send it to me please PM.

This song got me through a particularly difficult summer. I love it, she's brilliant on it. "I'm the one you outta knooow..."

I love both version of that song (I probably like the Pack Up The Plantation-version a little bit more)!
I totally loves when they sing:

I'll bet you're his masterpiece...
I'll bet you're his self-control...
Yeah you'll become his legacy...
His quiet world of white and gold...

Probably the best lyrics of a love song ever!

That song was originally intended for Bella Donna, but after Tom wrote it for her in what he felt was her Stevie-style, he decided to keep it for his album. Then he wrote Stop Draggin My Heart Around and gave it to her.

I love it very much in the live album too. Especially the freakish high note at the end that finishes the song. But I really like how you can tell what point in the song she walks out on stage because the audience explodes with screams after a few seconds during the guitar intro.

Um, you do have the live version, right? As great as the song is, it kicks so much ass over the non live version. If you don't have it, I'll send it tonight. Or maybe someone else can send it to you. YOu must hear it. IF you do only one thing this year, hear that live version.

This is really at the top of my STevie vocal performances. I love that song so much, it makes me cry when I listen to it. (the live version). :) Her voice swirls and swoops so much, the harmony is so strange and beautiful and expressive. I really think it's a masterpiece. You might actually die when you hear the live version, Daniel.... :)

Top 10 song for me, without question.

I love this song to pieces. Although, the studio version does nothing for me. It has to be the live take. The live version has more rawness and emotion to it. Gives me chills...
