Vegas Help Needed
This thread is not for me, but for my friend Jessica who is stuck in the lag in which you are registered but unable to post on The Ledge. She is going to Vegas with one of her friends. However the hotels all have a rule that you cannot reserve a hotel room or check into it unless you are 21 yrs old. She is 16 and her friend is 18 so they cannot get a hotel room. I know this is asking ALOT but can anyone possibly reserve a room for them at Imperial Palace and then meet them there and check them in. She will give you the money in Vegas. She really needs some help, she doesn't know what else to do so ANY help would be GREAT. If anyone is able to help, please either place a reply in this thread or PM me. Jessica would really like to be able to go to this concert, and this is pretty much her only hope. Thank you!

why doesn't one of the girls parents just reserve thne room? I am sure the front desk would be okay with calling the girls parents and checking them in with over the phone authorization, obviously this has to be done some of the time, otherwise how would minors ever go on trips? The parents might even be able to explain the situation over the phone... the other thought is perhaps she could try something not so casino like, don't they have Marriots, or Hyatts or othe "normal" hotels there? If she is flying she could also schedual her flights so she doesn't have to stay overnight, I know "red-eyes" arn't fun, but it is an alternative...

All good ideas, I'll ask her about it

It turns out that she has tried explaining to the hotels what the situation is, but every last one requires a photo I.D. from someone over 21 to check in, and the option of staying one day only just isn't going to work :distress:

 Are you seriously asking someone to book a room in their own name and then give the room to "underage" people???!!! That is a big risk!!!
Anyone stupid enough to take on that major responsibility deserves to be held liable. There are reasons why Vegas hotels have the "21 years of age" rule--- think about it ---and the consequences!!! |
seriously, i agree- in vegas why would ANY hotel want a 16 and an 18 yr old without parents? no one will be drinking or gambling... my suggestion would be for them to find a motel 6 or something similar further away from the strip where an 18 yr old CAN get a hotel room.

i know that most chain hotels' minimum age is 18 to reserve a room. just don't mention the fact that there is a guest, most certainly don't mention that that guest is 16. the chains tend to be cheaper, but the cost of transportation to the main strip will offset any of the money saved.
www.choicehotels.com turned up the best rates in may, if they decide they want to book through them PM me first. my only question is, who would let a 16YO go to vegas anyways? i did my fair share of retarded and irresponsible things, but i certainly never told my parents about any of it. i sound so old... |
