PSA: don't get SCREW-ed

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/xxxmx/blech.jpg

a) hi, i'm mariel if we haven't been introduced.

b) i own a construction/remodeling company and occasionally take part in the oh-so-fun action.

c) that is a screw stuck to my hand.

this happened at work today as i was installing a subfloor. i knew i had dried HEAVY DUTY PROJECT ADHESIVE on my hands but certainly didn't think anything would still stick. it wouldn't come off and i had no acetone on the jobsite so i got to drive home like this. i had to soak my hand in nail polish remover for twenty minutes to get it and the rest of the gunk off.

for future reference: wear gloves when installing cement backing board.

OMG! I'm glad you're alright. :wavey:

StevieNicksEO17 07-26-2005 06:32 PM

  I actually found that quite amusing.

It could be worse. The screw could be through your finger instead of just stuck to it! :p

the worst thing that's happened to me onsite: watching a ladder fall onto and destroy The Dance. luckily, i have three copies

the nastiest thing that's happened to me: i got joint compound in my eye once. i don't recommend that. oh, and i got 'stabbed' in the back by an employee carrying a reciprocating saw. blades down, people! blades down!

Josh2003 07-26-2005 06:40 PM

Gah...when I first looked at the picture, I thought the screw was going THROUGH you finger.

I couldn't believe you were so calm and taking the time to post about that!
