That's pretty cool! I hope he realizes his goal. I have always dreamed about walking across the US from coast to coast. Someday, maybe I will.

Thanks for posting!

Good for him! I wish I had that kind of ambition. I get exhausted just walking from the couch to the kitchen...

Interesting! That seems really fun, actually. He must have good knees.

I wish him luck...

in his walk.

Once I get healthy (Knock on wood) I plan to resume my daily 5 mile walks.

What a dolt. Does he realize how sick and worn out he's going to be? What he's doing is just as stupid as starving himself. Has he not heard of diet and exercise? Surely if he has the willpower to attempt this, he can find enough willpower to stick to a diet and use a bloody treadmill.

Yup, just read the journal. The dude is constantly sick and he's carrying around a pack that weighs 80 pounds on his back. Good gawd.

DrummerDeanna 07-26-2005 03:40 PM

Well - sadly diet, exercise and will power don't work for everyone.

And if someone has true food issues -then there is more than will power at play :distress:

I say good for him for doing something that does involve physical activity - and not some scheme diet pill, fad diet or surgery. Of course unless along with this he makes changes from here on out in his life/diet then he will gain the weight back...but I wish him the best of luck!

Why is he so sick and worn out? Isn't he still eating and sleeping, but just walking all day? Don't make me read the journals right now!!! :p

He's walking around drinking bacteria-contaminated water, he's got the flu, he's carrying an 80 lb. pack on his back, etc. I mean, it doesn't sound like he really thought any of this stuff out.

Ohhhh. Lame. Yeah, part of his pack should be designated water area. Plus, he should have one of those filter things. I went to Yosemite for two days, and our leader chick had one. Yeah, is he camping? or what? You definitely need to plan extremely carefully for something like that. okay.

That reminded me of Forrest Gump
