Ft. Lauderdale kicked major @$$!!
Just got back from the ODC show and Stevie rocked!! So there was a little confusion between Stevie's security and venue security. Venue security was told that after 4 songs they could let the first 4 rows up to the stage. Well, Raul flipped out when everyone headed for the stage after 4 songs. He let the venue security have it, but they said they already told us that we could stay. So our third row seats turned into front row, elbows on stage!! :blob1: :blob2: :blob1:
Vanessa was great again. She sounds just like she does on the radio!! Stevie was all smiles again loving the crowd. Stevie was very talkative tonight. Told us basically the same story about Circle Dance, although added that she had found out that it was written about Bonnie and her dad, and when she heard that she burst into tears and said that she needed to perform it. Then she made a comment about how she actually followed through on something that she said she was going to do. During the intro to HAEWATFY she talked about how she was complaining about how bad her life was, but then she realized that she shouldn't be complaining because her life has always been fabulous. Band intros Stevie comment about meeting Jimmy's mom and said she must have been 7 when she had him. And she asked Brett if he was tired from the 135 Fleetwood Mac shows and Brett did a itty bitty space between his index and thumb. Jana she says half of the 135 dates. And said that Sharon cracks the whip, then Stevie pretended to crack a whip and Jana pretended to be hit with the whip and was saying ouch. During Stand Back she alluded to the almost crash after the high kick in Tampa. Landslide was dedicated to Raul, who will be leaving Stevie to go and tour with the Backstreet Boys, to which the crowd boooed. Landslide is officially The Cat Song and she said that she was being very chatty and proceeded to have her hands talk to eachother, then went on to say that she actually did have a cat that would just randomly show up on her back door, so the name actually did have some basis in reality. The Edge walk was much shorter than the Tampa one b/c the stage was considerably shorter. Alex didn't hog Stevie tonight, so I was able to shake both her hands. She noticed that I was being smoshed and said to me, "You take care." Alex did get a hand shake, but not as long as Tampa, which he says lasted a life time (he is going to post a review tomorrow b/c he is really tired). Joy was able to sneek flowers into the venue past the Nazi security guards outside. Vanessa didn't come out for Rock and Roll. And when she came out for the bows, Stevie asked what happened to her and then asked where she was. I got to meet Suzanne and her daughter who were really sweet, and I also got to meet Julie2929 or Jules2929 (I'm sorry that I can't remember...it has been a long two days) who was very nice. I did get some picture, which I will attempt to post tomorrow night. I gotta head to bed b/c I have to work early in the am. ~Kim |
Dammit Kim, you beat me to it! hahahaha
I had an amazing experience! I touched her 5 times. 4 times in her hands, and once in her arm. I also touched her frankenboks  I'll post some more tomorrow Tired..thirsty... yeah! |
Great review, thank you! I love all the silly stevie touches (hands talking to each other? Bwah!) that you shared with us. I like when stevie is talkie and silly. Congrats on the hand action. Glad you had a great time. It's alluded.
:xoxo: |
Thanks for posting your review so quickly. I like the part about everyone booing the Backstreet Boys.

:sorry:
You were standing right behind me at the end of the concert!! I heard you saying that you touched her five times. I was standing at the stage wearing jeans and a white tank top. :wavey: ~Kim |
Vanessa is coming out for Rock and Roll now?
|
Vanessa come out in Tampa, but I think she was embarrassed when she didn't know her parts. Tonight they had the third mic set up, but she didn't show up til the bows.

Just got back! Amazing show and I was right at the front of the stage in front of her microphone the whole time!!! Stevie rocked!!! Even better then Tampa (if only because it was indoors in the AC!) I'll post a full review tomorrow, but I just wanted to say that I was really cracking up tonight when Stevie told everyone that the guitar player was leaving them for the Backstreet Boys. It was hysterical! The way she said it was like "you're leaving us for that teeny bopper boy band? As if!" I thought it was so funny!
Anyway, I am so tired. All the travel this week has really taken it's toll so I need a good nights sleep. I did take a couple pictures, which I'll post tomorrow. And I purchased a tourbook and I will scan that onto the computer and post pictures tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it... |
What happened with the high kick in Tampa... ??? Did Stevie almost fall? She does get her foot really high up there. YIKES.
Thanks for the great review. It is grand to read all the little details of a show that's this far into the tour. We already know the drill, so the little things that make it unique are wonderful to hear about. Laura |
What did I tell you Suzanne about buying those friggin broker tickets? Uh, who was right?
Front row....you lucky Duck. Shannon must have been overwhelmed..I know I was first time I had front row. Stevie is powerful for the untrained. So glad you got the creepy skeleton.....I am slightly obsessed with his meaning. You know Stevie doesn't put photos up that arent meaningful and Sorcerer has become her "make a statement" song this tour. So we will dish later when we have photos of this creepy ass thing. I was thrilled when Steph told me that BaTB was great and dramatic last night. After being in Vegas, I must say Philly was quite the let down. However, the drama was back in AC with all the hand gestures, face touching, pained expressions....LOVE IT! I wanted you to see a good performance of that song. So, she said some new stuff at the end of GDW? Steph relayed "you can't save me now, babybabababbaabbaababbbyybybbabyabyabyabyaby, you can't FREE me, no you can't do it, babe you can't free me, you cant save me, babababyababyabyabybybyybybybybybbbybaby". So, we know who the "babe" is but what can't he free her from? Nevermind, I know. Oh and Al on BaTB. The first show in Philly when he came out I was screaming to Marissa.."there is a guy out there". It was dark and I could not tell who he was. Anyway, he can sing sooo high and really is needed for the song. He obviously rounds out the sound and hits alot of the very igh notes when Sharon and loudmouth are singing other parts. Vanessa has been coming out for R and R for quite awhile now and i thought she looked nervous, maybe the word is "overwhelmed" in Atlantic City. Christ, who wouldn't be singing a Zep song with La Nicks?? |
