All's I can say is that Michael Hutchence is probably turning over in his grave right now. -_-

That girl just murdered Dylan's song.

I know - I wanted someone to shoot her and put her out of her misery....that dude who did "American Woman" was a tool...and so was that guy who butchered "Heroes." I liked the first girl and the girl who did the Hole song...I didn't care for the Nirvana guy. What else did you expect Ty to do, but "Cult of Personality?" I liked him too...I can't believe Dave Navarro is involved in this. He just lost some cool points in my book.

Was the guy who did American Woman the one who grabbed his crotch and was doing the twitchy thing with his legs and then grabbed that girl in the audience by her hair?
Dave's married now so he's probably making all the money he can. Plus I don't think Jane's is touring this summer, are they?

Agreed. I've hated this idea since they first announced it.

So did I. Nobody should even try to be Michael Hutchence.

I don't think anyone's trying to be Michael Hutchence. It's not like the rest of the band told him to go hang himself. He left them holding the bag. They were getting ready to go out on tour again and waiting for him to come to rehearsal and he never showed up. So any of the dates that had already been booked had to be cancelled. I don't know what kind of money, if any, that cost them.
So now, they've waited a repsectable amount of time and have decided to continue under the name they're known for best-INXS. If they changed the name of the band they would have a much harder time getting booked. So this show is a good way to create some buzz about them and help them to continue to earn a living. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I saw INXS about three months before Michael killed himself. It was a great show with complete with Hutchence climbing up on the stacks like a monkey man. He gave a great performance. May he rest in peace.

The girl who did Dylan was awful and the last girl who forgot the lyrics sucked too. I really liked the first girl's voice and I thought the girl who did the Pretenders song was interesting too. The Living Colour guy was good too.

Some say it actually worked well musically speaking but plugging that name INXS without Michael doesn't work. They should drop INXS and perform as a new band then they might gain more respect based purely on the music. So that experiment didn't work and now they've gone for a completely tacky experiment.

without having seen the show, and purely on principle, I agree with you. Michael WAS INXS, just like Freddy Mercury was Queen. Nuff Said.

Dreammms 07-12-2005 12:02 AM

I got away from INXS after Michael died. He was to INXS what Jim Morrison was to the Doors and Freddie Mercury to Queen. They all had that star persona with the band in the background.

I agree.

Make new music, get new bands but don't try to make these classic bands come together again...what's done is done.

( The Who is the exception because at least Roger and Pete are still around and they can tour for all eternity)

But even the Beatles without John...no. Now without George, double NO.

It's like when FM did it without Stevie AND Lindsey...bad....thank God the Dance happened and they aren't looking for new singers, you KNOW this is right up Mick's alley. He did it already but with the surgence of reality tv...he'd be doing this right now.
