When Stevie's on blow, I think she's incredibly cool. I have a strictly aesthetic response to what I see on a stage or hear on a CD; I am unencumbered by sociological concerns in my reaction to the impression. I am like John Simon in that we believe that what occurs onstage or onscreen is a true gesamptkunstwerk, a complete aesthetic experience in which the performer's looks & sound are integral but not the performer's personal struggles with addiction, dwindling audiences, nasty critics, or psychological or psychical enervation. I am an Ars Gratia Artis aesthete & offer no apologies for it! |

Christine. Christine. Christine. So beautiful. Such gorgeous lips. Let's actually talk about her and not that other person who always winds up in this forum becuase of...guess who? I was just listening to "Can't Help Falling In Love" and I'm in love with it. She's so silky smooth on it. I actually heard "You Make Lovin' Fun" in two different stores today. It was enjoyable, but when I started thinking about ITM, I noticed how her voice has only improved, so much! This isn't a new analogy, but it's so much like a fine wine. I hope ITM isn't the last thing she puts out. :( |
