Sybil

It is on t.v. now and I am home alone and we are all watching it

I must say the movie is good, but the book scared me to death when I read it as a child

I read it when I was about 10, I don't think I've recovered yet

~Marissa~

What channel, dear? I love that movie. Give me a double feature of Sybil and Frances and I'll need a whole bottle of prozac.

TV LAND

Lord FRANCES  and people thought Lang was acting - sort of like W. Ryder "playing" crazy

I just looked on the website and it's the actual uncut version, too. DAMMIT! It was only released on video in a ****ty two hour version. I wished I had known earlier.

She looks so beautiful these days. I saw her on the cover of some magazine the last time I was at my mother's and she looks more stunning with age. She gets props for doing a photoshoot and having them not airbrush her wrinkles and liver spots, too.

Oh - I LOVE Lang - but she is a few pennies short of a dollar  - and as for Ryder

Ryder always comes across as a twit (though a good actress), but I think Lange is a smart cookie. I remember reading an article she wrote about the Monks of Nepal and being taken aback by how thoughtful and articulate she is.

And her voice? Is incredibly sexy.

Hey, Strand, can I ask you something....?

If you were home alone....I have to ask.....who are the 'all' who were watching it with you? :D

well, eeeerrrrr - the others shut up don't tell - who are you - I am you

Are you mad? I am your daughter.

 does that mean your in the will

Not only that, but I'm the executor. Don't trust your tea, it may have been spiked. o_O

 That reminds me of one time my dad made a mistake and said his life insurance policy was $15 million dollars, which he soon corrected to a much lesser amount. After she picked her jaw up off of the floor, my mother, not missing a beat, said in her best lilt something to the effect of "well that's better because otherwise let me make you some tea"

I was watching this movie too. Sally Field is one of the greatest actresses of all time IMO. You guys mentioned it being a book before...I had no idea of this. Who is the author? I'd be interested in reading it for sure.

Don't EVEN get me (or Bruce) started on Sybil! I love that movie! And we thought Joan Crawford was a bad mother! Uh-oh, too late....

"Dish towels and button hooks are useful things..."

"And they go around and around like this, and up and down like this, and then like THIS and like THAT..."

"The people, the people, the people..."

"That's just a picture of Santa Claus cut out of an old magazine and glued to a piece of cardboard..."

"SYBIL, DON'T RUN IN THE HOUSE!"

Sally Field's best performance! I believe Sybil's doctor wrote the book, didn't she?? I read it years ago...
