Stevie demos with "that note!"

I was listening to (what I have labeled as) "Julia (first demo recording, part 1)"...just Stevie on piano...and she is singing along and hits this terrible note and starts talking about "that note! It's that f*cking note!"

Now I have heard her have problems with this note in other demos...but what other demos is this found in??

I think it might be interested to compile a little list to see how often it has happened.

I love that demo. It cracks me up. Here is some of it for the people who don't have it.

Quote:

*Stevie plays a bad note*
"That's that note! That note! It haunts me! What am I...you know what? I have to say, that there is somebody up there that really wants me to do something with this *pounds piano* ****ing note! Stupid thing. I'm sorry, Shelly, you have to understand that I'm neurotic. Not only am I neurotic, but I'm schizophrenic too."

Shelly: "That's a good combination"

Stevie: "And I'm sorry. I hit that note, and if you think you get bummed out, let me tell you, I get bummed out. I die."
There is a lot more talking, with Stevie basically driving Shelly Yakus (a studio engineer or something) crazy. It is a little confusing to follow their conversation, but I think at one point Shelly won't give her a beat so she refuses to make him "mozarella and tomatoes" the next day.

That demo makes me laugh every time too.
Just like the "Sleeping Ange' demo where she messes up at beginning and says..
"Oh, Jeeeeeeeeeeezus, that was a good introduction too......F*%^in A..!!!"

It's at least twenty minutes long. I don't think it will go via email. :sorry:

The first Julia demo cracks me up! It's interesting to hear how she first wrote it..and how it ended up on the finished demo.
Whenever Stevie flips out on the piano, or herself for that matter, I find it hiliarious. The BATB demo with Tom Petty is pretty funny too. I love how she uses candle wax for tape. lol. She kills me.
