I am Paddle-to-the-Sea. Please put me back in the water.

Who remembers this bucolic little film from the late 1960s, directed by Bill Mason & a one-time favorite of schoolchildren all over North America?

It's time they released this on DVD!
Paddle to the Sea

Sorry. It looks good, though, I want it.

It's a beloved classic to an entire generation of American schoolchildren that grew up in the 1970s. It's only 28 minutes long, so it was frequently shown to grade-schoolers on rainy days when the field was too wet to play in.

"Paddle to the Sea" is about a young Canadian Indian boy who carves a wooden figure of an Indian in a canoe & names him Paddle-to-the-Sea, then sets him down on a frozen river. With the coming of spring, the river melts, & Paddle-to-the-Sea makes his perilous way downstream from Lake Superior to the sea, the Atlantic Ocean.

Well, that sounds wonderful, right up my alley. I'm suprised I didn't see it, being a schoolchild in the seventies. Ok, just 79, but still... Speaking of things people should see, I've recently noticed that "The Dot and the Line" by Chuck Jones is very great, too.
Anyway, thanks for the info, I really want to see that. :)
