Stevie said "Mick" again...
Just got back from Jones Beach and it was another terrific Stevie show... very different from the one in Philly a week ago. Must have been the weather... Manhattan was like a sweaty, swampy sauna today, but it was downright chilly (as usual!) down by Jones Beach. So Stevie was cloaked head-to-toe in scarves, gloves, jackets, etc. No "two birds of Rhiannon" sightings tonight. It's a shame because all of these layers were not flattering, especially on someone her height. She looked kind of like a vintage store mannequin at times.
The startling thing was that the entire house became really quiet as Stevie stood in front of the mic while the piano intro to BATB played. Then, out of nowhere... "Mick." The piano stopped and then the song began... really bizarre. Anyway, you could hear a pin drop throughout most of the song... and then when it ended... thunderous applause and a standing ovation. Other observations: -She playfully "forced" Don into singing ALL of the verses to GDW! He started the song and she kept gesturing for him to continue singing while she slowly danced around. -I touched Stevie again. I know... who HASN'T touched Stevie! -Even "Dreams" was interesting tonight... she sang the melody more like the album version... -There's a more relaxed vibe than last Friday's opener. More smiles, more twirls... I could swear she was twirling for like two minutes straight at the end of Eo17. I was worried she would get dizzy or something... -Don gave Stevie a long big bear hug from behind... it was strange seeing such a display of affection from someone who does not appear to have human emotions. |
Ohhh, can't wait to hear that "Mick" thing. As for:

Jones Beach SUCKS!
I hate it there.. why do i keep going back?? The worst crowd in the history of concerts was attending the show there tonight... you know the same crowd that goes to EVERY show there... there was hardly any applause the whole night and everyone sat in their seat.. no clapping, no cheering... god i hate that place... ... oh yeah, but Stevie was fabulous :) |
That's hella weird, about "Mick"!
Thanks for the review. I've never touched Stevie. That's cool that Don hugged from behind. Those are the best hugs. |

I've been very close, too, during SYW. it's like, she skipped my hand! And then, Lindsey skipped it, too! I was in between the "touch zone", but still! I was in front of the monitors, and the mics. Still, I'm starting to feel a bit cursed... |

I thought the audience (at least closer to the stage) was really into the show... It was the typical assemblage of middle aged home-dyed blondes, fags, their hags, Wicca chicks and hippies. |
Hmmm...

Oh, I havent touched Stevie...But I sure would love to, Hehehehehehe  |
Ok, now I'm back on the *is she banging Mick* thing. Why is she just randomly saying his name at awkward moments? It's like *accidentally* letting a man's name slip during sex. Sounds like Don is loosening up more and more with every show. Stevie brought it out in him, no doubt. No one can resist her charms..
Oh and I might be the only one who has not touched Stevie. :distress: |

well, this was my 7th Stevie show this year and this crowd was the worst... even wednesday night's crowd in Mansfield where they were litterally giving away tickets to non-fans for free were more into the Stevie/Don show than these supposed "fans"...
