Is this authentic?
Found this today. I love trade ads, so I'd really like this one too. I recall a thread here recently about a possible phony cardboard counter standee - but I don't want it if it's computer-generated. Anyone know if this is for real? THANKS!

It's a page out of one of the magazines during her shows in Vegas. I kept the magazines from my hotel room and two of them have that full page ad in it. Don't bid on it. If you want it I will gladly send you one of the magazines. I'm only keeping one of them.

Aren't they claiming this is the ad sent into the magazine though?
That's how we receive some of the ads for the mag I work on . It's hard to tell from the pic because usually it would have a white border and a colour test thingie at the bottom of the page. |
"Please note: This item is a page from a Magazine, (an ad)"
This line from the ebay post leads me to believe they just cut it out from the magazine. |
Do they just mean it's a regular ad (promo as in promoting the shows) or a magazine proof (of an ad in the mag)? The only way to know for sure is to email the seller I guess.

Just an ad from a magazine. Most used words on Ebay RARE and PROMO. Most aren't and are only marginally promo. They consider any old ad as promo. The price is too low for a magazine printers proof. |
:) Thanks for the replies, everyone. I knew that if it was real, it was from a magazine. What concerned me was that some of the people selling these 'trade magazine ads' are merely selling two-sided color copies of the original ads. I bought some TISL promo ads a few years back (Planets, Sorcerer and Everyday), and it was so obvious that they were color copies, probably made at Kinkos. Eventually, I got the real ones ('cept for Everyday), but I don't want to go through that again. I'm also far too polite to e-mail the seller and ask them "Is that real or just a color copy."
