Dvd- Cd blanks

Okay, what type of CD and Dvd blanks for burning are considered the best? I am just getting into burning stuff and wondered what the experts use. So, of course I asked here.....

With all the bit torrents being posted, I haven't traded since I traded with you, actually. Before that site came along, I didn't even know half of that **** was even out there.

Hmmm...

CDR's:

Maxell (Made in Japan-My fave!!!)
Samsung
Sony
and even the newer Memorex's are cool

I havent had any problems with any brand except for older Sony & white labeled Memorex's

DVD-R's:

Maxell (Made in Japan-Again my fave!!!)
Memorex
Sony

I hate TDK DVD-R's, They have a hard time finalizing in my burner, As does FujiFilm...So I prefer the 3 above brands

For CD - Maxell or Sony CD Audio

For DVD - Memorex, Maxell, or Sony

Stay away from the DVDs! My burner could not read the data off of some that I got in a trade.

I have had good luck with TDK, Maxell, and HP DVD+Rs.

I seem to have problems writing data to Sony DVD+Rs.

I have had the best experiences and the least amount of problems with Sony CD-Rs. TDK CD-Rs work really well for me too. I used to really like PNY Black CDs, but I cannot seem to find them anywhere the past couple of years. They never erred, and all the CD artwork I make looks great on a black disc.

With Memorex, it seems like one out of four discs have problems finalizing, or I get a 'run-time' error while burning. Maybe I just need new equipment, but I doubt that since other people have problems with them too. All in all though, the slower the speed you use to burn, the less likely you are to experience errors. Slow and sure always gets the job done.
