Kindergarten Graduation

2 Attachment(s)
My little one graduated from kindergarten last night. It was the most precious thing I have ever seen. She was given awards for being the most improved academically through the year, and for having the best attitude on a daily basis. Then, her teacher gave predictions for each child's future, and said that Sara is a very selfless child with everyone, is very caring and compassionate, and thinks she will be in some sort of social work! Ha-ha! It was so sweet. And I am proud to say that I was the first mom to walk through the door, and I beat that angry mob to the front row. Boy, was it packed last night.

I can't figure out how to make the pictures bigger....

Oh yeah, Americans have to make a huge deal out of everything, esp. nowdays. I never had a kindergarten grad ceremony when I was little POUT!

My niece is also graduating. It is adorable  !

My nephew's school did away with Kindergarten graduation - they just did a little end of the year play - he got to be an elephant...

He was front and center singing "Elephants Have Wrinkles"

I missed it because I live thousands of miles away :distress: But luckily my sister has it on video - so I'll get to see it in less than two weeks!!

I never had one, either. I also had to question whether this is really necessary... it's almost like it's celebrating mediocracy... I mean, it's cute and all, and maybe it's encouraging to them, but on the other hand, they're just going to 1st grade.

But, when it comes down to it, it's just pretty damn cute!

Awwww....She looks so sweet. Congratulations to you and Sara!

I had a kindergarten graduation, though we didn't wear little gowns or anything. We mostly sang songs and then got our "certificates."

The photos are so cute with them in their caps and gowns. You must be so proud of her!!!

Thanks everyone. I am very proud of her. Since it lasted so long last night, I wasent' able to take her out to eat like I promised. So, we went tonight. She is all about Chinese... so I took her to a hibachi grill for the first time(Japanese steak house, she don't know any different!) and she loved it. The cook was doing all his cool cook stuff, and she ate with chopsticks they rigged up to help children eat with them. It was so cute. Mom had fun too... :D
