Eagles tack more shows onto tour itinerary

by Jon Zahlaway

May 20, 2005 09:39 AM - The Eagles have added more stops to a late-summer/early fall roadtrip that focuses on California, and now includes new dates in Nevada and Arizona.

Recent additions to the schedule include an Aug. 11 kick-off in Lake Tahoe, NV; a Sept. 10 stop in Bakersfield, CA; and a stretch of October dates that includes appearances in Anaheim and Los Angeles--marking the tour's fourth show in each city--as well as dates in San Jose, Oakland and the Phoenix area.
Tickets for most shows are on sale now, while those for the Bakersfield date hit the box office on Saturday (5/21) and those for the Phoenix-area stop are set for release on Monday (5/23), according to the Eagles' website.

In addition to regular ticket sales, the Eagles are offering VIP packages via ILoveAllAccess.com, a premium-ticket service that was rolled out last year. More information is posted at ILoveAllAccess.com.

In March, the Eagles offered up "Eagles Box," a limited-edition box set that includes all seven albums that the group released between 1972 and 1980. Also included is a bonus CD-single featuring the tracks "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Funky New Year."

During an April 8 appearance on "The Howard Stern Show," Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh confirmed that he and his bandmates--Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Timothy B. Schmit--have been working for some time on a new album, but no release date has been set.

The Eagles' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975," which has sold over 28 million copies, is the top-selling album of all time in the U.S. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Before returning to the road with the Eagles, Henley will tackle a June co-headlining tour with Stevie Nicks.

Based on Kelly's information in a previous post, no wonder why no Stevie dates in CA  Talk about market saturation. Damn, Eagles :distress:

But that information makes no sense! Anyway... the Eagles certainly have oversaturated California...BTW....Stevie appears to be adding more dates on the EAst Coast and Middle section of the country. She is only adding 24-26 solo dates after the ten with Don. How many do we have so far? I called the Borgata a few weeks ago and box office man said it was a Henley Nicks gig. Now..it is showing on TM as a solo gig. This tour is one unorganized mess! Plus it is not selling well. (according to my friend who is involved financially)

You said it!!! This is an unorganized mess!!! I just wish she would have went into the studio and did a tour after a new album came out. That way, at least a year or two would have passed between the SYW tour and a Stevie solo tour. And we would have a new solo record in our hands! Oh well though. But if she is going to do this Gold Dust tour, I hope she comes to Florida! Even though I am pretty sure the setlist will be exactly the same as Vegas, I had such a great time I am ready to hear that setlist again. I'm just suprised she is doing so much touring and is showing no interest in studio work at the moment.

I think old girl is touring too much. This will be over 300 shows since 1997. I think the casual fan has probably had enough for a while after the TISL and SWY shows. It just seems like a bit too much.

300 shows since 97 = basically a 40 show tour every year... That is a lot! Never thought about it that way...

I think something can be said for the statement she made about Fleetwood Mac where she said they need to go away so they can come back and have it be exciting again....

That list of California gigs is insane. I can't believe there are enough people in the world who would want to see the Eagles, let alone in California. Nostalgia is sure a hot seller.

No Kidding! The Eagles sure are playing some random places. Salinas? Angels Camp? That's just weird.

There's been a CA date added for Stevie after the Houston show. They just posted it today. :wavey:
