Questions for those who attended Vegas Shows
I will be going to the Fri/Sat shows. Some of these questions may have been answered in previous threads, but I don't have the time to sort through them all.
1. What time does the show actually start? 8:00PM sharp? 2. What was the crowd like? Were they mostly Stevie fans who were really into it or Caesar's Palace High Rollers who got comped and looked puzzled b/c "Stevie" was a woman  ? 3. Much audience standing/dancing or "sitters"? 4. For "Edge of 17" is there a stage rush or does she only shake hands with the people in the first row? 5. Were there many people in Stevie garb :) ? 6. Any scalpers hustling tickets outside the venue? 7. Who full was the venue? Many empty seats? Thanks for your time, The Edge |
Hi Edge!
I just got back from Vegas...I attended the Tuesday night show with my bud Mariel (xxxMx) and we sat 5th row, Section 3. We had a fantastic time...I'll do my best to answer a few of your questions. Feel free to pipe in, anyone else who was there, if I've forgotten anything. Also, I only went Tuesday...things certainly might have been different last night :) 1. The show started around 8:10p.m. 2. For the most part, the crowd seemed really into Stevie. Most appeared to be fans, or at least really enjoying the show. However, there was a substantial group of what appeared to be high rollers in the front, center section (They were practically comatose the whole time!) 3. In our section (Section 3, front on the side), almost everyone with us in the first few rows was standing the whole time and moving with the music. There were a few times when we sat (the slow songs, mostly). I was really surprised, though, because I've heard the Caesar's is more of a sit-down venue. 4. For "Edge," security allowed the first five rows to rush the stage. Stevie held both of my hands when she was making her rounds...It was great. All I could think of to say to her was, "Stevie, you rock." haha 5. There were a few people in Stevie garb. Not as an overwhelming number, though. However, a few more were wearing Stevie-inspired outfits. Shawls, all black, etc. 6. I didn't see any hustlers/scalpers, though we got to Caesars well before the show (7p.m.-ish) and walked around the casino. 7. The venue was pretty close to full. Just before the house lights went down, I looked around and there were a few seats here and there in the back that were empty. In general, this was such a fantastic show. Stevie was on top of her game vocally and looked trim and energetic. I especially loved "If Anyone Falls" and "Beauty and the Beast" in particular. Hope that helps! Matt :woohoo: |

I was told you can actually be ejected from the venue if you are caught selling tickets to anyone! So be careful.
They only let the first four rows up on Wednesday night and Stevie tried to shake as many hands as she could be it was the people who made it up there and were in front that got to touch her. She seemed to be enjoying all the attention but also concerned about the shoving and whatnot. She kept saying "please stay back..please dont push each other, be careful...stay down..dont push..please" over and over. Many people were too aggressive in my opinion..pushing and jumping over venue seats to get up there. It detracts from the experience and if too many people get nuts and push and shove...well...who knows what could happen. Marcus was not having anyone get too close or grab at her. He was VERY protective and it was really sweet. Marty Hom was also. Standers scattered throughout..some high roller complaining but security let us stand. The security guard told me that Stevie was allowing cameras as long as no one was professionally recording the show....she liked getting photos from the SYW shows from fans. It started at 8:15 on Tuesday and 8:10 on Wed..it is an hour and a half long as we thought it would be. No matter what anyone else has said on this board, this is a once in a lifetime experience. She was sooo amazing..sounded awesome and tried so hard to please us. She even said she changed a few songs for us even though she was "scared to do it". Her whole performace of BaTB was just amazing. I cannot even explain how stunning it was. |

Oh, and I just wanted to add that some lady threw her BRA at me for standing during Fall From Grace (lots of people were standing for that song, BTW, but I guess I was the only one in HER way???). Lame. |
