Feisty Threads

Okay, I have been skimming the threads today, and rather than post in multiple places, I thought I would post here. So as far as set lits, opinions, going/not going, prices...etc...etc..etc. I can sum it up real easy. A friend of mine went with me to see Stevie Tuesday night (Not a fan, knew maybe a few songs...) and he summed it up real easy:

I am an Elvis fan, and I never even got the chance to see him. You are so lucky she is out there performing. (He liked the show BTW).

There will come a time (Many, many, many, years from now I hope) when she won't be able to perform anymore. No more set lists, no more twirling.
I am just thankful that we have a chance to see her perform. DVD's and CD's are nice, but it doesn't match the real thing. I guarantee, when that time comes, we will wish we could have seen her one more time, regardless of the set list.

I do not think anyone disagrees with this. I think people are just bummed because they took her words to mean the concert would be different than any other concert, which other than being in that cool theatre, it is not. But, I, like you, am glad she is still out there, which is different from being bummed about her choice of songs in light of what she said.

So true. I, for one, never try to criticize Stevie for things like this because I do feel that I discovered her so late in the game that I am very luck to even be witness to her shows and I am so happy to be seeing her in Vegas, regardless of any outfit, song or video. While I would've went to a concert closer to home now knowing the setlist, it's a done deal and I'm still excited. I think it's more of a "crap, I really hoped she'd ____ " based on her excitement and thinking this time truly anything could happen, but at the same time not diminishing the fact that we love our Stevie and are ready to experience La Nicks in all her Vegas showgirl glory.

I agree with you 100%. That's why I am going to see her when she's gunna be with Don. I don't like Don at all, but we don't know how much longer she's going to be performing, and I've never seen her solo before. I mean yeah, the setlist will be the same, but who cares. I still love to hear her live.

I have to admit, I had hoped for a little more. In the Still of the Night and If Anyone Falls was wonderful to watch and hear. There were no twirls at ALL and not much energy. Seems there was more energy during the TISL shows. I loved the added visuals. They DID enhance her show. I've only seen 2 other tours and neither had near the visuals this show did, so I thought it was great. I was hoping for more in the way of wardrobe too... what happened to the feather boas and all that she was talking about in one of the interviews?

Beauty and the Beast had me chocking back sobs and I did have to use my sleeve to dry some tears. Unfortunately my camera battery ran out before the song came on... I forgot to charge it before the show. So I really hope to get a copy of that DVD.

If I ever do a Vegas thing again, I will do it differently, fly in/fly out and stay at the Motel 6. I spent waaaaayyyyy too much money there the last few days. That may be adding to my hopes that there would have been more.

(I went to the first show.)
