Stevie Flowers - Part two

Hi all!
Just finished the card and wanted to say thank you for all the support! We had 25 folks helping out for a total of $350.00! This is far more than I imagined. I received many from folks who are unable to attend the show in Las Vegas, and even a few new names. (I rechecked my PM's and Paypals and emails and list about 200 times so I if I didn't get a chance to repsond to you yet, rest assured you are on the card!)
Sorry for the rush, but the idea just hit me the other day and opening night is very close and I need to give the florist a chance to work their magic. I will try to get a picture of the arrangement, if the timing works out. I am more concerned she get them in time. I will see the florist after work today, and will leave everyone an update.

Again thanks all! :wavey:

Thanks for organising this Jim. Are you delivering the flowers yourself?

I wish I could, but I think there is a better chance of her actually recieving them if they come from the florist directly. (I am requesting a signed reciept though...now whether Stevie signs it, or one her staff remains to be seen). I would imagine one of her staff will take care of such things. If I delivered them myself, A) I probally couldn't lift the thing . B) would drop them and ruin the whole effect is Stevie actually was the one to recieve them C). Wouldn't know where to take them. - Not being a Hotel employee, I doubt they would tell me her room, or give me access to the dressing rooms. I can't blame them though. They have to protect the talent, and just cause you deliver something doesn't mean you're on the up and up. I think a some sort of response would be cool. Maybe a heads up at the concert or a 'Thank you" note...or something. But who knows. I didn't do it for the recognition, I did it because I thought she might enjoy and appreciate them. (But if she said "Thanks Ledgies for the flowers" at the concert, I wouldn't mind). :D

Here is the florist I am using:

A high end florist - to be sure- But figured Stevie is worth it!

Jim, you're awesome... :woohoo:
btw, what section are you sitting in on tuesday? :)

SuzeQuze 05-09-2005 08:25 AM

Darn it. I have been so busy that I did not get a chance to see this thread and contribute :(

But I agree, Jim, this is really excellent! And since I fall under the umbrella of a Ledgie, I sort of contributed. I can give you a fin when I see you if you need it.

Apparently in southie a "fin" is a five dollars.

I don't think that's just a Boston thing, but I have been wrong before. In fact, I've been wicked wrong before  .

I just think this was the coolest idea...We really appreciate your efforts in this, glad to have been able to be SOME part of Vegas fun, even though I can't attend any of the shows.

What does the card say?

Well, operation Stevie flowers is completed! I am sorry for those who were not able to participate, but time was kinda short. (wish I thought of it sooner). Maybe if she returns in October we can be more organized. Anywho, I ordered a special large French Bouquet in a glass/crystal vase designed by Jane Caroll. It has many varied flowers and is really nice and unique. Really elegant and something she hasn't seen before. (Hopefully). I wanted to get her something where she would definately remember us.

I was told Jane Carroll was flying in from New York in the morning and our flowers for Stevie would be completed in time.

I spoke to the girl who normally takes care of Celine Dion's dressing rooms and that the flowers would be delivered to Stevie, in her dressing room, around 5:30. She said that would be the best time if the show was at 8:00. She does this all the time for Celine, so it would all be taken care of. The flowers go from the flower shop, to special security, then to this girl. (I was very thorough to make sure that Stevie got them PERSONALLY). I went through a few department heads and was able to get to the right people. They were very helpful. The card will be attached (All filled out). I saw parts of Caeser's I didn't know existed! (That office is over there, now go see so-and-so...no you want this girl.....)

Thanks Again to everyone who helped out! I think Stevie will really enjoy these! Thanks also for all the suggestions and PM's. :D They really helped.

I wrote: To Stevie, Just a small token of our affection to wish you a wonderful opening night. You have given so much to us over the years, we wanted to give a little back. Our thoughts are with you on this special evening.

Name.... City

and at the end kinda small:

Just a few of the 2772 Members of the Ledge - Fleetwood Mac Board (Ledgies)

I know some wanted a quirkie saying in there, but I couldn't decide and ran out of time so went with something simple. :sorry: Nothing really seemed to fit, so I left it like that. I found a really nice card (blank inside - but with pages sort of - really nice. And the names and note fit PERFECTLY)
