Very sad. I was in the upper level classes where most students were interested in learning. I had mostly great teachers. There are 2 I can think of that harrassed me. Yes I think part of it is that I'm female, one of those teachers was a woman. But mostly I think they knew I could do better than I was doing. But I couldn't because of my anxiety level which they just didn't get. Actually no one seemed to get that. Not even me until about 7 years ago.
Anyway, I have seen this more in the corporate world than I did in school. I ask myself often what the hell I'm doing there because the values just don't match mine. But the company I work for now is really good. Just my boss has a thing for penises. All of the team leads in our group are men. She relates better with the men in our group. It makes me nuts. And actually, I think she perceives them as better. Like she will discount things they do wrong and then magnify the things they do well while doing the opposite with the women in the group.
