Say No To William Myers
William Myers was rejected as a judicial nominee last year, but President Bush has nominated him again. Republican Senate leaders are scheming to win this time – and win at any cost. They intend to seize absolute power by changing the rules to limit the rights of Democrats to be heard.

Myers has spent his career trying to dismantle the protections our courts exist to preserve. He was a former lobbyist for the mining, grazing and cattle industries and a Bush Administration bureaucrat. His only experience has been manipulating laws and regulations for corporate gain, against the public interest. He’s unqualified to sit on the largest federal appellate court in the country.

ITA - He is the worst thing that could happen to that court, which is legally already the worst in the land. Personally, I think the Ninth Cir. will be spilt into two Cir. I pray a D is in charge when it happens.

You straddle the line. I've picked a side. But it's all good. You are mostly liberal though. Did I just type that out loud?

I am socially very liberal and liberitarian (sp.?) I say the less govt. the better. Govt. should stop crime, pave the roads, educate us (state level) , etc. I am all for streamlining it and getting rid of the pork barrel stuff like the consultants is D.C. that get $10,000 a month is efective hush money and crap like that. But, in today's world of the gallop to Religious extremism, I am on the left almost as far as Dissention - in fact, we are moving in together next week :eek:

I think most people think I straddle the line because I judge on facts, not partisan crap. That tends to drive both sides nuts :laugh: Though, lately (in the last ten years) I cannot say I have EVER sided with the R's. So, I usually vote D as the lesser of two evils a la Kerry.

Just when I think I cannot be amazed by anything this Republican controlled Congress is doing, I'm still amazed everyday..it's totally disgusting how they are acting up there, not that they weren't before.but that are taking things to the total extreme now
