Jimmy Carter and the Pope

If I were Jimmy Carter, I would go to the Pope's funeral on my own, fly Delta in coach, and sit in the back. Who needs the Presidential envoy anyway

The Vatican needs to send plane for him, the only president to ever welcome the pope to the White House.
Why the f*ck are Andy Card and Condoleeza Rice there in the first place? BTW, nice outfit Condi.

I can see Dr. Rice as she has been there, she is the Sec. of State who will deal with the new Pope, etc. But Card - come on - he is a no one comparatively. That is just an insult to Pres. Carter. Again, I think Carter should attend and sit in the back. if anyone asks why, he should respond with the truth, the Pres.' official envoy did not have enough room for me. That, of course, would have the effect of making, if possible, W look like even more of an a$$ than he already is

Honey, be very afraid. Andy Card may be running for governor in my state.

Actually, I was wrong - the five in the official delegation are:

W
the First Lady
Clinton
Pres. Bush
Dr. Rice.

I guess Card was just walking with them  Actually, I am unsure how this works. I do not something like 40 members of Congress are going on their own and not part of the official Presidential delegation.

Ha! That'll be fun to watch. Is he from there?

Then that little fascist needs to sit in the back. There was a seventh person next to him that no one as of yet has been able to identify.

Unfortunately...yes. :distress:

Mutt Romney won't even dare to run for re-election after he trashtalked the state on a cross country tour for Bush. I do find it funny, though, because being the governor of MA has really ****ed up his plans of holding national office. No one from Alabama or Texas will vote for the man who comes from the state of gay marriage.

Card doesn't stand a chance, Tom Reilly is going to take it.

I actually never understood how Romney got in there in the first place. I've heard he's a potential Republican nominee in 2008.

The R's have a plethora of candidates, but none of them as strong as Jeb or Rudy, who I do not think will run. Bill Frist is the natural choice, but I do not know about him.

Interestingly, Dr, Rice could run and I would actually consider voting for her depending on the D candidate. If it is Kerry, I probably would vote for Madame Secretary because there is little to no difference between the two and at least Rice has balls

He got in because the Democrats nominated the worst possible candidate out there: Shannon O'Brien. The old ladies had the hots for Mutt, no lie, and turned out in droves to support him because he presented himself as very liberal. A lot of people in Mass are still under the impression that when a Repub runs for governor here, they're going to be like Weld and not that bad. Yet they realize, time and time again, that they're wrong. Mutt is so unpopular right now, though, that he'll surely lose if he runs again. People think he's a snake and he's been named "Weasel of the Week" in The Valley Advocate on a constant basis since the RNC. They're pissed that he's trying to use our state as a springboard for higher office. He went to a school in Holyoke, MA recently and gave an hourlong lecture about the "horrific" drug problem there and how to solve it. Thing was, that school is a middle school that has no drug problems.

And he'll never be the Republican nominee. Not unless they want to lose the White House in '08.

Frist..... :distress:

I think Dr. Rice is an intelligent woman, but I wouldn't vote for her. My respect for her has fallen to zero and her devotion to Bush and his cronies is scary.

If you think you'd be voting for Rice and not the Bush regime, you're delusional.

If it came down to Kerry vs. Rice, I'd vote Nader.

Remember when he was on the People's 50 Most Beautiful?

No, he has no chance. I've just heard his name kicked around some, along with a plethora of others.
