Fan Club Selling email addresses?
 

Did anyone get an email today about someone selling a Tango In The Night Gold record?

I am not going to post the whole email but here is the first sentence.

thought you might be interested in a unique and custom made Fleetwood Mac gold disc presentation plaque we have for sale, as you appear to be buyers of merchandise for their fan site :confused: :confused:

The funny part is that I have never even purchased anything from the fan site except for tickets. :mad:

Now, that I look at the email I think that it is just a record made to look like a gold record. :shrug:

It just kind of makes me mad that this is what the 'fan club' has been reduced to. It was crap anyway but this just ticks me off.

I just got one this morning asking if I wanted to buy a gold disc!

However-- as I am not a member if the fan club- I don't think they can be held responsible. Don't know where these folks got our addresses from...???? Strange.

just checked and i haven't gotten anything. personally, my email is out there on sooo many FM related sites that they could have gotten it from anywhere, not necessarily the official site, though i wouldn't discount the idea...

Wow that's pretty creepy! I haven't gotten anything, nor am I a member of the fan club. Did any of you email them back and ask how they knew your email address?

No, I don't want them to know that they reached a valid address. Of course they might be reading this right now. Sorry, I am not interested in their crap. :mad:

to have your email address added onto SPAM list is to list it in the open, As some have done here when requesting music files...Just takes one 'spider/bot' to get your email address and then your pretty much S.O.L. :nod:

I block my email address on every site.

as you appear to be buyers of merchandise for their fan site I have to laugh because I am not a buyer for the fan site. :laugh: If I was I could think of a lot better things to sell then this crap.

I have only purchased tickets though the fan site and I have gotten Mac stuff on Ebay and Amazon that is it. Oh yes Ticketmaster, too. Oh and then a few ticket brokers.

This email is based in the UK, too. :shrug:

Hmm. I do have a 'fan site', however. Maybe they just did a search on the web for that and thought that I 'sold' stuff. :shrug:

Then they just sent me an email that is linked from my webpage.
