I really want to see it, but I haven't had a chance to yet. I'm glad to know that it is worth watching. :)

i have seen both good & bad reviews~ but being a stevie nut i had 2 have it & amazon wasn't asking 2 much 4 it new, so i said "what the hell" i think if u are a stevie nut, dream of twirling, & goin' 2 a "night of a 1000 stevie's", it was well worth the watch, some of the things she says in the movie r so true about stevie fans & she cracks me up  !!!~ & not 2 give away 2 much when they leave her twirling in the graveyard, was fabulous  ~ 4 any1 interested amazon had it as of yesterday 4 $14.97 new, & i got it in 4 days~ was a gr8 watch IMHUMBLEO :xoxo: !!!~

I didn't think it was THAT good. Just ok in my opinion. It kind of dragged, and of course, would have been 100% better with Stevie music. It was an ok movie though. And I liked the song about her mother at the end, too.

I really didn't like this movie- and I really wanted to love it! I just didn't relate to the characters and didn't find them appealing whatsoever. I thought Sara's character was trashy and almost felt embarassed for her. I hope people don't think all Stevie fans are like this. That was all I could think after watching this movie. I normally like Ind. films, so I was expecting to like this one, but really didn't. JMHO.

Her character was trashy. I mean, the whole public bathroom thing...not my idea of romance..or sanatary for that reason.
I still thought it was ok. I will probably never watch it again. I might as well sell it on Ebay!

What did Sara Rue say about Stevie?

maybe she should have made a different movie if that's the way she felt about her

and why were there no stevie songs in the movie?

WildInTheWind 03-04-2005 11:16 PM

Stevie's management wouldn't let them use any of her songs. They used Talk to Me...well in a kareoke scene...but I guess since Stevie didn't right it, they were able to use it. Stevie songs would have made it SO much better!

I'm not too fond of the movie myself. Not that it wasn't great or anything, but just the fact that it in itself is an emotional rollercoaster (I'm not into that). What is really great about Gypsy 83 is the soundtrack. My roommate just got it in the mail yesterday. It's so awesome! :)

Sara Rue said that! Wow! Notice how Sara's career has been soaring  To me the funniest part of the movie was when she unleashed those ta-ta''s  Those babies may be bodacious but they were damn ugly.

I posted the exact same thing a few months ago when I rented the movie and of course got flamed for being rude against larger people, which I am not! I just did not feel the need to see those things on my TV!
