Cola a form of birth control?
 

I was browsing my local bookstore yesterday and came across some very interesting/disturbing info. If I remember correctly it was in a book called "The Little Book of Bad Taste."

Among other little bits of information, it said that in some countries cola is used as a post-sex douche. An American study (it gave details but I can't remember which University) studied this and found regular cola to be 90% effective against pregnancy. Diet cola was found to be 100% effective.

I've heard of using cola as a toilet bowl cleaner, but not as a cleaner for... umm... other things. Makes you wonder about some of the things we consume. :lol:

Whoa! That's pretty serious! But 100%? No way!

We talked about this in class when we had Obstetrics. It's not true.

No kidding. I'd have to wonder about the first person to go "Fresh out of condoms, but I bet if I poured Cola in my hoohah..."

On that show "Carnivale," one of the hootch dancers/hos used either soda or beer as a douche. She was saying that things "were all messed up down there" and her husband/pimp popped open a bottle of whatever it was, took one sip and then handed it to her. She shook it up first to get the foamy/squirty effect. It was gross, but intended to be funny - and I guess in the 30's, they thought it cured "something." :shrug:
