Here's a scarey thought...
 

Well, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the white Fleetwood Mac album, as we all know. The scarey part is that the half-way point from then to now is Behind The Mask!

omg that's freaking crazy... the halfway point? sort of like a midafternoon nap?

Well that thought certainly makes me feel ancient and petrified!

Oh yea, it seems like just yesterday doesn't it. Another scary thought is that next year, Stevie will know how she feels 20 years from then. I bet she can't wait.

Here's helping you along...I was 2 when BTM came out and my mom was fresh out of school when the white album came out. :thumbsup: I have her copy on vinyl. Yay for second generation FM fans...although my mom is no match for my obsession.

I don't get your point. Why scary? Because BTM was bad? (I don't see it that bad). Or because Lindsey wasn't there?

It's been longer between the time when the white album was released and now (30 years), than it was between the time I was born & when the white album was released (19 years). I have no idea what significance that has, but I just felt compelled to mention it. :shrug:

Actually I liked the BTM band, and really didn't miss Lindsey on it (save for maybe as a producer). It's just that BTM seems like it was just yesterday. It's still considered "recent" Mac by many, and yet it's the half way point between now and when Stevie and Lindsey joined the band. Also, look at how much the band did in that first fifteen years compared to the second. There have only been two studio albums since BTM, compared to five (more like six if you count Tusk twice) before it.

Oh, that' right.

I even considered The Dance as a recent album. But... it has been almost 8 years since that reunion.

Children get older, I'm getting older too.

Well, I have to admit that Behind the Mask was my 1st Fleetwood Mac CD. I bought it because Billy Burnette appeared on it and found it in a cutout bin some time in the early 90s. My 2nd FM related disc was Out Of the Cradle. So there I had it: both worlds. I'm obviously from the 2nd generation. It took a while for me to enjoy Christine's songwriting style, but at one point I must have played her songs so often that my dad, who had not conciously heard her music before, proclaimed her his favourite female pop vocalist. I was really curious for In the Meantime before it came out, and it's a nice record, but it got way too much of that funk guitar on it. Somehow, the Time album always reminds me of my driving lessons. That much should be enough for memories.
