Happy 28th Birthday to Rumours!
Shamelessly lifted from Stevie-Nicks.info:
Today In Stevie History On February 4, 1977 http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/covers/rumours.jpg Fleetwood Mac's crowning achievement RUMOURS was released. The blockbuster album spent 31 weeks at #1, spawned four Top 10 singles ("Go Your Own Way" [10], "Dreams" [1], "Don't Stop" [3], "You Make Loving Fun" [9]), and won the Grammy for 'Album of the Year.' To date, the album has sold more than 18 million copies in the US (25 million copies worldwide). :blob1: :blob2: :woohoo: :blob2: :blob1: |
Yay! :] :]

I love Rumours. The first Mac-related albums I bought were Mirage and Bella Donna, after seeing the videos from each album on an MTV "Rock Block" (remember those???). Then I caught the HBO concerts - I remember they re-played Stevie's after one of the airings of the Mirage concert. After seeing Stevie's show, I became OBSESSED with "Gold Dust Woman" and had to have it. So, I went to the library and found a magazine article that said the song was included on Rumours. So, I went to KMart and got the Rumours LP the next day. At first I couldn't find it, because it wasn't in the Fleetwood Mac section. Then I turned around, and noticed an album with a woman who looked like Stevie peeking out of a bin in the country section, looking very out-of-place. I couldn't see the album name because of a big round sticker of a penguin listening to a gramophone on the outside plastic. The sticker said "National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences - Album of the Year". Buying and discovering new music used to be SO much fun before the Internet. And you certainly got LOTS of exercise. |

Also, I never realized Rumours was released so close to Valentine's Day.
Isn't that ironic? (Don't ya think...) ;) |

I hated birthday parties, so I WANTED my mother to forget! |
Crap, I was expecting you to say you were an only child and had my response all ready to go:
"Then your family pets must've had the BEST birthday parties in the neighborhood!" :xoxo: |
I hate being the same age as Rumours. Like the album, I was "born" in 1977. Now I get to look forward to turning 28 ( and I AM NOT!!!!!)
Anyway, HB Rumours. :woohoo: |
:woohoo: Cheers to the greatest album of all time in my book! :D
