Share the love

Have you ever given someone a Lindsey CD? If so, what did they think about it?

I did. :) I gave one to Justin Guarini when I met him in Beaumont, Texas last August. I wrote him a letter listing each song and how I felt that the song applied to Justin's struggles in the music business. I hope he listened to it and enjoyed it.

Have you shared the love?

Well, I did burn a CD for a friend of mine. However, we listen to it everytime we go out in her vehicle.
I think that she likes some songs more than others but overall she likes it.

I just passed a compilation to one of my best friends under the title:

Oh, you met Justin in Beaumont, of all places? That's where I grew up. Not exactly a thriving metropolis, but hey, go West Brook Bruins! :) It's cool that you met him, BTW. :)

I burned Fleetwood Mac compilations for all of my students as a parting gift last semester (they knew of my obsession since twice, I had cancelled class for concerts!) It had some Lindsey solo songs on it - Holiday Road and Soul Drifter. I Like to think that they at least got a kick out of it. I know one student actually e-mailed me back to tell me how much he liked RTTG - not Lindsey of course but cool nonetheless!

Yep, I flew to Houston to meet up with some other Justin fans, we drove to Beaumont and went to see him sing a few songs at the Kid's Fest they had. He did three songs and then we left (Aaron Carter was on next...bleck) and waited out back to try to meet him. He was soooooo sweet and signed everything you stuck in front of him, and I've attached a pic of us. Hee! That was a really fun night.

You grew up in Beaumont...cool! I'd never been there before August, didn't get to see much of the town, just the hotel we stayed at and the arena where they had the Kid's Fest.

Hey, passing on the FM love is awesome! Glad to know that kid liked RTTG!

I have no idea why he chose to wear that shirt and with camoflage pants. LOL That's Justin Guarini, runner-up on the first American Idol. :)

I wub him.

estranged4life 01-29-2005 08:01 PM

WTH is that on his cap???

Oh...that dumb as dead grass Texas Longhorn logo...Seems to be upright though which is 1000% inaccurate

Christy, You'll get firsthand experience in what I mean come March 10 at the Ford Center...NOONE here has the 'Horn logo upright

wondergirl9847 01-29-2005 08:19 PM

Wuddn't me.

I didn't give that to him, some other gal did. I only went to junior college, I claim no college. My cousin is a die-hard Aggie. There ARE no other colleges if you ask him.

I'll be sure to wear a Don't Mess with Texas shirt on March 10th. Hee!!! ;)

Word of advice...

wondergirl9847 01-29-2005 09:25 PM

Tee Hee!!

I don't have insurance. :distress: Hopefully, I will be getting some soon, if my company gets their butt in gear.

I would never do that...I like, ya know, being alive.

Yes! I am always looking for ways to share the Lindsey love!

I made my mom a CD of Lindsey songs. She listens to it in her car all the time. She loves it!

And my greatest achievement is my brother. I made him a copy of GOS and he is constantly telling me that it is the best album ever (He doesn't seem to understand that it was never released even though I keep telling him that. He can't understand why most of the songs on GOS appeared on SYW. But, that's another story ;))

So anyway, he told me he took it to work (he works in a lab) and played it there and everyone he worked with kept asking who it was and they all really liked it! I was so excited when he told me that!

And on a side note, my neice who is 7 loves "My Little Demon" and "Holiday Road" :)

Awesome!!

Hehe, start 'em young. ;)

That's awesome about your brother and his co-workers. See, if people would just give certain music a chance, they may actually like it. OMG, really?! LOL When you are bombarded with certain singers/bands, people don't take the time to listen to anything outside of that. :(

I've never managed to convert someone with just a cd (see my posts on the What song do you play to introduce someone to FM thread) but I did manage to win over my best friend by taking her to two of the SYW concerts (her favorite bands are Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and A Perfect Circle). Thanks to me she likes Lindsey too. She can't stand Stevie, though. (I did my work well -- I'm not exactly fond of Ms. Nicks either.)
She works in a Pfaltzgraff store (spelling?) selling really ugly kitchenware. I guess they play a lot of Fleetwood Mac on their sound system in the store and she's always finding herself singing along to them, even the Stevie songs. Her coworkers think she's nuts, especially when "Steal Your Heart Away" comes on and she mimicks the funny way that Lindsey pronounces "away."
Now if only I could convert her into liking Tom Petty, Walter Egan and Warren Zevon, all would be well in the world....
