Photo Printer Advice Needed

I don't have a printer for my PC right now. I need to get one and I also need one that is also a photo printer. I do not want a portable one right now.

I don't want to spend more then $200.00 and I really don't want to spend that much. I don't want anything too big because I don't have the room for it. I have a HP PC and I really don't want anything to conflict with that. I am not sure to go with an all in one that has a scanner ( I don't have one) or just a printer by itself. The more reviews that I read the more I get confused.
I heard that Epson has the best quality photo prints. The printers look a bit too big for me, however.

Any advice would be appreciated.

My photography teacher always swore by Epson. In the past they were the first to make archival quality inks and paper. I'm not sure if others have caught up. My ex bought an Epson all in one that he loves. It is a bit big but it is smaller than having both of those pieces separate. If your'e interested, I'll get the model # for you. Oh, and try to get a printer that has individual color cartridges. That way if you run out of blue, for instance, you don't have to replace the whole color cartridge for just one color. The ink is expensive, it is where these companies really make their money. Good luck with your search!

Yeah, the clerk at Staples was a photo/video student and showed me the Epson all in one that he had. He swore by it but it was too big for me. I saw a smaller version the CX4600 which looked really nice for me but some of the reviews on the photo quality were not that great.

The separate ink cartridges are a plus.

I bought my Canon i850 over a year ago because Consumer Reports ranked it high. It was in the area of $90. I’ve printed hundreds of great quality photos with it. I don’t see a difference between this Canon and the Epson that I used to have. My uncle is a photographer and uses all Epson. His pictures look the same as mine.

I’d personally stay away from the all in ones. If something breaks it might render the whole thing useless. You don’t have to buy a photo quality printer to get the best photos. JMO

Photo Printer

I have a Lexmark Z715 Photo Printer which came in a set with the eMachine hard drive & monitor. I believe you can purchase this photo printer separately & for under $200. It is really nice. Puts out great pictures, very good quality photos. I'd highly recommend it.

After all of this I decided to go with the HP 7450 photo printer. I can also print from the SC card without using the PC.
Office Max had a sale and the price really was a factor. I did not have any printer at all so at least now I have something.
I have to hook it up later today.
