24 Members of the House Of Reprsentatives will stand tomorrow morning and ask that Ohio's electoral votes not be certified. They are: John Conyers, Jr, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Jim McDermott, Maxine Waters, Lynn Woolsey, Bernard Sanders, Eleanor H. Norton, Sam Farr, Chaka Fattah, Donald Payne, Anthony Weiner, Diane Watson, Barbara Lee, Elijah Cummings, Robert Wexler, Juanita Millender-McDonald, José E. Serrano, Major Owens, Danny K. Davis, Dennis J. Kucinich, Sheila Jackson Lee, William Clay, Jr. and Barney Frank.

According to Representative John Conyers on this afternoon's Randi Rhodes radio show, there will be at least one member of the senate joining them. This will be an historic moment in our democracy as it has happened only once before, in 1876. Oddly enough, one of the candidates was from Ohio.
If you have access to CSPAN tomorrow and they broadcast the joint session, it will be must see tv.
According to MSNBC'S Keith Olbermann, "The Majority is also worried about the possible absence of many of its members in both houses, and the prospect that a quorum might not be achieved, leading the process into uncharted, albeit not very threatening, constitutional grounds. There is a mathematical, if not practical, chance that the ratification of the Electoral College vote could be delayed past tomorrow." :woohoo:

We will finally have our day. It may be four years too late but we will have it. Let the squatter be put on notice.

Did you get that message from Michael Moore? The "This is Funny" post. I am eagerly awaiting tomorrow :blob1: :blob2: :]

strandinthewind 01-05-2005 08:06 PM

I can't wait even more to hear what the press says about it - if they pick it up and run with it.

I cannot IMAGINE Fox will not run with this as they will spin it to make the "liberals" look like whiny nutcases.

Oberman probably will pick it up as well!!!!!

Yup. CSPAN had better broadcast this. I didn't know that many of them were planning on being absent tomorrow. Cowards. Here's where the rubber meets the road. BTW, I'm sure you got Kerry's email today. WTF was that? How are we going to introduce legislation when we don't even have a majority in the house and senate?

Oh, CSPAN will.

Kerry's email was **** and after I read it, I unsubscribed from his mailings. I've no use for him, he sends us these things as if we all suffer from slow brain maturation. And I love how he's hightailing it out of the States. Coward!

To me it's not just about Kerry anymore...whatever...I just want to at least TRY and stop this maniac that is ruining us. Many of my friends gave up, and that's exactly what the R's are trying to do...crush our spirit. I fight against all that is immoral and evil!

Dammit!

Yes, that's is what they are counting on. We have to give our all to those who stand up for us tomorrow. You can bet that they are going to catch hell for what they are about to do.
