Spinoff: ISA Compilation

This was brought up in the other thread and it got me to thinking - what WOULD be the ISAs one would HAVE to have on an ISA "best of" compilation? I'll start with the one I mentioned elsewhere, Largo 1975. What else?

Lol!

I could list every single one I've heard, but...I'll try to be good. ;)

Dance
Mirage video
Concert for the Environment (would-be Tango version :( )
Live CD (Tusk version)
Japan (Mirage)
Mobile (Mirage)
November 29, 2003 London (SYW version)

These are only a handful of my faves. :)

Rosebud (The SnL harmonies kick major ass)

Rockhoppers '76

(The best Rhiannons come from these two shows as well  )

Bwah!

I am listening to ISA from Buffalo '77...his voice is the cutest thing EVAH!

Chicago 80 is magnifique!! He really played around with the solos alot on the Mirage tour.

Okay, another...Oakland '82 is unreal. His vocals are insane!

Geez, I would need 100 CD's for my ISA compilation...I'm listening to the Sydney 1980 version and GOOD GRAVY...awesome!!!

I was trying all day to think of one early in the SYW tour and I just now thought of it, and went to add it to my playlist...Pittsburgh 5-10-03. 8 Days after my birthday.

I think the way he's been playing it this last tour has been by far the best. Just the perfect combination of melody and anger. I love it when he starts really attacking the guitar. I think it's a toss up between Live In Boston (if only for the perfect sound), Anaheim and Earls Court (The show I was at!). The latter being the one where I first heard him add that very classical sounding part, which just rocks.

My favourite early performance is definitely the Chicago show from the Tusk tour. The improvising is spot on - different, exciting, fluid - and there's so much emotion.

I like some of the early versions, but I think they just pale in comparison to the bombastic sound of the Turner.

I've never heard the Concert for the Environment version. Does anyone know where I can download it?

I? LooOOooVvvVveeEeEe the Dance version. Mmm. I was obssessed with that one for, like, two weeks. It was the only thing I'd listen to. I have no idea why it sounds so good. I think it's because it's the right combination of bass/guitar/drums/organ.

My favorite part of Live!ISAs is the organ. Mmm, organ. I miss Christine. :(

I love the version on the Live Album from 80!!!!

Hmm

The ISAs I heard live this last tour (Dallas and Detroit) are my favs with LIB also just spine-tingling. I cannot get enough of this song and never will. It's just jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring and flat out sexy as hell.

Gabrielle...

You are okay with me, newbie!

ISA is the greatest song ever written, IMO. I was at the Dallas (well, I was at both Dallas shows...but I'm thinking you are talking about the Smirnoff show?) show too, where were you? I was in the 2nd row.

I just discovered a new one:

FARGO '97

It's freaking amazing!

When I first started to get heavy into the 'Mac, ISA was at the bottom of my list. Now, I love it so so so much. There is not a bad version out there. When he was playing the guitar solo over top of me in Cleveland, I was in awe. It seriously changed my whole view of this song and now I can't get enough of it.

I'm right there with you on that, Curtis.

I also really like Hershey 6/12/04, but that may be just cuz it was the last Mac show I attended. In any event, I'm so glad Stevie's harmonies returned on ISA. I have to say I don't enjoy the versions from Tusk & Mirage Tours as much without it.

Thanks! I was at the 2003 Dallas show. Didn't make it to the one this year. :wavey:
