best of...and off topic questions for MAC users

I am looking for a few things and since I just got a new computer all of my bookmarks are now gone. Where is the Live in Boston page that had all the songs from the dvd available to download?

What do you guys think is the best Sara from the latest tour? Right now I'm thinking the one posted on stevie-nicks.info but I'm looking for the best

And last, but not least, there is a version of Sara from the Tusk tour I believe where Stevie holds the last "Sara" for a long time and does some vocal gymnastics that I just LOVE and I can't find it either...

Off topic, I just got a mac and I love it so far - it's weird getting used to this when I've been raised on Windows LOL - any tips that you guys have would be greatly appreciated...right now my biggest frustration is figuring out how to "save as" like when I want to save a song to my desktop from the net or a pic to my desktop; so far every attempt just moves the link so I can never get it to be saved to my computer, it always streams from the net - oh and how in the world do I "right click" to set pics as my background??? I need a mac for dummies book!! thanks

Macs rule!! I got an iBook for graduation -- what did you get?

I haven't heard many verisons of "Sara" but I couldn't make myself not respond to this... As for "save as" -- are you using Safari? Go to the Window menu and click Downloads -- you can drag links to files in there and it'll save it to your desktop. Or you could drag the link to your desktop and it'll save it. I didn't know how to do that either when I first got mine and I just figured it out a few weeks ago. Let me know if you have any other questions and I can try to help... I'm no pro at this yet, but I'm willing to learn... :) lol!

I got an iMac G5 - getting my iPod about 3 months ago is what sold me on getting a Mac computer - so far, it is awesome. Thanks for the tips...I've got lots to learn. I'll have to share some versions of Sara as trade for your knowledge! LOL

Oooh, new iMac!! How do you like it? I kinda wish they hadn't changed from the neat pod looking thing, but it must be neat having a monitor and all your plug ins in one unit. My mom has a PC and I'd love to get her an eMac so I don't have to come back and fix her computer when I finally move out. And funny you mention that -- my iBook is what sold me on my iPod. I have never used anything simpler in my life -- this is the way computers are supposed to work.

Thanks TwistedGypsy!

Pianogirl - I love the Mac so far. It just takes getting used to. I was trying to decide between this and the notebook but opted to get this because the last laptop I had was crap. Another thing I've noticed that I'm sure is just my lack of experience is that whenever I put a pic on my desktop, it's very grainy...Stevie's gorgeous face isn't clear but I'm sure it's got something to do with the way I'm formatting these pics. Thanks again for your help.

pianogirl04 11-16-2004 11:31 PM

Hmm.... I'm not sure about the pics. Maybe it's the size of them. Sometimes the pic will come up bigger than it's formatted for and it'll come out looking grainy. Just out of curiosity, how big is your monitor? (Well, the whole thing's practically a monitor, but you know what I mean...) It's an LCD screen too, right? I haven't seen a new iMac up close and personal yet, but my iBook is 12" and the pics are considerably smaller on this size screen so if I make them bigger they look all grainy. Are you making them your wallpaper?

Alright, way too many questions for one post... lol...

JazmenFlowers 11-17-2004 06:21 PM

I got the 17" monitor and it is LCD - its really nice.

I'm attempting to make them my wallpaper but I need to figure out a way to keep them from looking so grainy...I need a good website that has wallpapers in different sizes.

oh yeah - I meant to ask you if you know which program we can use to record voices...I used to use sound recorder on my Dell but not sure what Mac uses - it's not garageband is it?

pianogirl04 11-17-2004 07:41 PM

Awesome. It could be something to do with the resolution of the screen being different than your PC... I'm not sure.

There's a folder in Applications for something called Sound Studio. Much better than sound recorder, imo. It records voice *crystal* clear. I recorded an interview with it a few weeks ago and it was great. On another note, GarageBand is cool if you have enough RAM to run it... I was a dork and only got 128mb when I got my iBook (iBook on a budget, haha) and I wanted to use it as a small recording studio for my demos... along with not having enough RAM I don't have an audio/midi interface yet, so... I haven't done a whole lot yet... But I'm getting there.
