There is no best country

When I see a thread with too many posts, I prefer to begin a new one. Sometimes the posts make a detour from the original point. Sorry

Well, there is no best country. It can't be.

I've been lot of times in the US. It's a great country, in terms of freedom (but this is VERY relative), order, economy.

About nature wonders, yeah big deal but not the best. I mean you have wonderful Grand Canyon (far better than Colca), Niagara, Yosemite, etc. But Iguazu is better than Niagara. The Andes are better than the Rocky Mountains, etc.

People. American people are very kind. But that's it. I mean, people from hispanic countries have more hospitality. For example, most of friends I have, they say they don't make friendship with their neighbors. For peruvians, to live in other city far from their parents, even when you are adult, is very weird. We take care very close of our parents, specially when they are old.

Food. No way, I hate american food. Just lobster and grill are good. sorry. I love Thai food. Not to mention mexican, italian and french food. And of course, peruvian food!!!

History and Legacy. Come on. You can't compete with Mexico, Peru, Italy, India, Japan or Greece.

With all respect I think the question about the best country is very silly. Now if you focus the question in one point, it makes sense. For economic reasons, and if you are legal, US is very good to live. But that's it. For other reasons there's plenty of options.

Now it depends on how you were raised. Peruvian way of live is very warm. I couldn't live in a "cold" country as the US, Germany, or Denmark, for example. Sure people from Sweden has a different opinion. And from SouthAfrica, or Honduras, or Taiwan. It depends on your way of living
And I know it would be very hard for an american to live in Peru. First of all you can't drive here, it's a mess! ha ha!

I love to travel and visit countries. But to leave Peru for living in other place, no way.

What I really love is Planet Earth. It rules.

Vic..

It's all about opinion and preference, not who's better.

Every country has history. Every country has a certain palate for food. Every country has unique geography.

The Grand Canyon is gorgeous, the Rocky Mountains are gorgeous, the Redwoods of California are gorgeous...and even though I've never personally seen the Andes, Victoria Falls, the Great Wall of China...I'm sure they are all gorgeous too.

You are correct, the planet Earth rules. :)

ITA - I think each country has its strengths and weaknesses. So, like the eternal Stevie is better than LB and vice vera battle, it is all subjective.
