I think Bush winning wasn't the worst thing that happened Tuesday

I mean when you think about it, the president doesn't have that much power at all. Congress has FAR more power then the President, and I'd say the Aupreme Court has more then both of them, serving life terms and all they can do whatever they please without fear of facing their actions.

But unfortunutly Republicans have taken over Congress now, which to me is far worse then Bush wnning.

The Republicans have had control of Congress for some time now. The scariest thing is Bush having executive power for a four year term where he is not beholden to the electorate.

And by the way, the President does indeed have a lot of power. You should read up on your civics (but somehow I think I'm wasting my breath).

I know quite a bit about civics, and the President can do very little without the approval of congress.

No, it's the other way around. Bush has yet to veto anything put in front of him.

Yeah, and with Republicans in control of Congress, he will have such a hard time doing anything.

Well, it takes at least 60 in the Senate - so that is a slight ray of hope, although I readily admit it is not much of one
