Bush's Box

From Cnn.com - if you go to the link below, W clearly is wearing something underneath his jacket. I suggest it is the prop up bar Cheney uses when he uses W like a Charlie McCarthy doll

Bush aides deny Internet rumors he was wired

CHANHASSEN, Minnesota (AP) -- Bush campaign aides are laughing off widespread Internet suggestions that President Bush was wired during his first debate with John Kerry, to get help from advisers.

A photo taken during the September 30th event appears to show a small, boxy shape between the president's shoulder blades.

Musings on various Web sites suggest it could have been a radio receiver so the president's aides could feed him answers during the debate.

Spokesman Scott Stanzel calls the idea "ridiculous," and adds, "Some people have been spending too many hours looking at left-wing conspiracy Web sites."

He adds, "Did you hear the one about Elvis moderating the third debate?"

Wow, I never realized what poor posture he has. If he'd have stood up straighter, no one would have noticed the wire! hehe

But seriously, if someone were feeding him answers, don't you think he would have done better???

Carol

Oh, gees...did I actually just post something in a political thread?!?!?

It doesn't help that he isn't even six feet tall. ;) Kerry is a whopping six inches taller than he is!

And I'm curious to know what that bulge is, it's obviously a wire.

yeah, but you know, it's not like he has enough hair to cover an ear piece. Something in his ear would been noticed. I was going to say maybe they both had earpieces to make sure they could hear the moderator and each other clearly, but you would have been able to see them....

I think there are wireless ear pieces and I am fairly conbfident the govt. has stuff only found in the X-Men  Maybe it was some kind og safety thing like a mylar vest - but it looks like a rectangular box

but if it were a WIRELESS earpiece, why would there be a wire under his jacket? I'll have to ask my husband when he gets home...he's in TV, and might be more familiar with the different battery packs/earpiece things. But I agree the govt probably has stuff regular TV folks don't. But I still don't know what the wire would be for if it were a wireless earpiece...

I noticed it the night of the debate. I also notice they issued a non denial denial about it today, saying it's not a receiver. They don't go on to clarify what it is.

Actually, it could have been a wireless earpiece, hence the receiver. They make them so small that they are virtually undetectable.

It would explain the long pauses. He was probably waiting for someone to tell him something. I thought he was rather embarassing when he asked if his tow minutes were up, then paused for what seemed like forever and babbled incoherently until they were up.

I think the Repubs should have used a John McVie "styled" cardboard cutout (That was used in the "Tusk" video) and stood him up against the "Munster man"...And just have a tape player behind the Prez playing on a loop the word "Duhhhhhh"!!!

Thank GOD for the MLB playoffs, Cause the debate on the other night was boring as s**t! Btw, I think Bush lost that one too...

During the first debate I remember thinking it was weird for him to say "wait, let me finish" when no one had interrupted and he still had plenty of time left. Some speculate he was telling the person in his earpiece to slow down. www.isbushwired.com is an interesting read.

Personally I think it's just a rumor, but I'm glad the news networks are running with it. If he is being coached whoever's feeding him lines is doing a piss poor job of it .

IT could cost him the election if it is proven. I mean if he is too stupid to field his own questions . . .

that is the tip of the stupid iceberg, i think...proving that will just begin to scratch the surface of his idiocy...

I thought that, too. But really, if they were going to wire him I really think they'd have done a better job hiding it. And practiced more so it would go smoother....

I saw the title of this thread and thought it was a discussion about Laura Bush. Eh, what the hell do I know....
