Nod to Lindsey and Stevie

Over on the Berlin ("Take My Breath Away", "No More Words") board the lead singer, Terri Nunn, said Lindsey's sole on "GYOW" was one of her favs

"Lindsay Buckingham has amazing solos too. "The Chain" solo starts out with one note kept going for almost 8 bars before it freaks out, it's great! Okay, I'm probably doing one of those musician geek-outs with this. Most people probably aren't into all the intricacies of notes and solos. But for those of you who are, lay it on me!"

A fan later goes on to say this about Stevie:

"Gotta throw a nod out to Stevie Nicks and "Edge Of Seventeen" from the Bella Donna CD. Not enough numbers on the volume knob for that one!"

Just had to share!

Coolness!

Thanks for sharing that! Good to know people are thinking of Lindsey and his amazing guitar abilities. Of course, Edge is a classic and my fave solo song. :)

How wonderful! Berlin is my second favorite group! I don't visit their boards much, though....I'm not too obsessed with them like I am with the 'Mac.

A long time ago -- back in the early '80s, I think -- Teri Nunn was quoted in some magazine as listing Sting & Stevie Nicks as two of her favorite singers. She said they weren't great from a technical standpoint, but had a lot of "feel."

She said something like, "They both feel up the yin & the yang" of the lyric.

Yeah thats a cool Teri quote! I agree..."The Chain" is a great solo. It's probably actually my favorite solo of Lindsey's. Along with GYOW, So Afraid, Tango in the Night, and This is the Time.
