Getting ready for Hurricane Frances...

Hey guys,

I probably wont be on as much in the next couple of days. Looks like I'll have to start putting up shutters tonight/tomorrow morning....Its been crazy down here, and we are getting rady for this storm. I take them very seriously, since I was here in Miami for Andrew in 1992.

Take care everyone,

~Alex

I love Miami since many friends live there and I have lot of memories, great times. I remember Andrew and how my friends went through that terrible experience (you were a child then, weren't you?)

I'm going to Miami in 2 weeks. Vacations!!!!!
Hope the hurricane don't do a great damage. Take care.

OH, god, that's like my worst nightmare! Please be careful. If you see stray pets, pull them inside, too! Poor things....Hope to see you alive and well soon....

Alex, take care of yourself. I know what its like.

Puerto Rico seems to have angels pushing hurricanes away from us. Frances looked pretty scary when it was close to Puerto Rico.

Alex, you know that I am praying for you and your family to stay safe and well.

My family has since moved north, but they lived in Miami for over 20 years, and suffered through Andrew. I remember seeing Homestead about a year later, and cried my eyes out just imagining what they went through. Please be careful! Hope you stay safe!

My sister lives in Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona, and they had minor damage from Charley (trees down), but said it was an intense thing to go through, 2 hours of very high winds. With Frances they're saying the winds could go on for 20-22 hours. So they're going to be holed up in the hospital where both she and my brother-in-law work with the three kids, a dog, a cat and all her pictures. She has an interior office on the 4th floor, so she's sure they'll be okay. Hope so....

I lived in Clearwater for 12 years and never had to go through a hurricane. They always seem to just miss the bay area, as Charley did.

This is my 2nd hurricane now, i'm around Cocoa Beach and supposedly that's one of the main parts that this one is coming in to... I was on the other side when Charley hit so my house didn't get any damage but now? Yikes... My dad finally realized that this storm wasn't just going to "turn," my mom and I had to yell at him all day to get it through his head that you have to take PERCAUTIONS. We've called most of the hotels up in GA, well not "all," but the ones that we would be able to get to, they're all sold out and of course it's hard to find a good hotel when you have a dog, two birds, and a turtle lol But this Days INN that we found, supposedly they're going to "bend" the rules for us but it's up in Jacksonville; I can't stand that city *shivers from awful memories* lol But that is I guess going to be our "resting spot" until we can find something else further up North... *sigh*...I would rather be living in IL still, i'm used to Blizzards lol I would like to move back up North too, can't stand the cold weather but at least I would have my friends back lol. But anyway, now i'm OTing here. lol. But I just know that the roads are going to be crowded! It's 1:21am where I am now and we are leaving around I believe 6am to get out of here. Oh! And my FM collection of CD's is coming with me lol.
