What has Rock & Roll ever done for you?

I think I have read that "When I see you again" was included in Tango in the Night, leaving out a song called "What has Rock & Roll ever done for you?"

Has anybody listened this song? Was in side B of any single? In any Stevie solo album? Maybe in a remastered version of TITN will be included.

I think it was Timothy White's article on Fleetwood Mac in Musician magazine, that first stated "What Has Rock And Roll Ever Done For You" was Stevie's personal choice for inclusion on 'Tango,' but the band passed it over for her, in Stevie's words, "stranger, more demented" songs.

(It doesn't state unequivocally that it was passed over in favor of "When I See You Again," simply that Christine thought "When I See You Again" was too downbeat to close the album, so she pushed for "You And I, Part 2" instead. Which then excluded the lighthearted "What Has Rock And Roll....")

As far as "What Has Rock And Roll," it was never released anywhere... not even as a b-side.
And while it's pretty much considered fact that Fleetwood Mac recorded it, the only version I've ever heard is definitely a 'Rock A Little' era outtake, with Lori & Sharon (and quite possibly Marilyn Martin) providing backing vocals.

I am pretty sure WHRREDFY was released as a B side. I remember squeeling with glee in college and playing it on the juke box. I may even have a copy of it somewhere. Then again, that was 15 years ago  Seriously, I will check my stash. But, I am fairly certain I have a copy.

I think I have it as an extra track on a remix LP - I'll check my stash too!

"What Has Rock And Roll Ever Done For You" was never officially released. Anywhere. :)

You wouldn't be thinking of "One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star," would you?

Probably. I gotta haul out those boxes and look. But, I am sure you are correct as my memory fades

"What Has Rock And Roll Ever Done For You"... I got the mp3 of this from Throwndown.net when they posted a whole plethora of Tango Session songs. Despite the fuzzy quality, I think it's one of Stevie's coolest songs! It should've been on TITN, if you ask me.

I have to agree with Stew, though, that the one we all have or have heard isn't Fleetwood Mac -- it's probably Stevie's own band (solo or friends or something).
