Enchanted disc three as it's own album

Isn't it amazing how the third disc of the Enchanted box set would probably have been one of the best Stevie albums if released on its own! (Removing most covers and retreads). So much better than Rock a Little or Street Angel! Hello, woman- what were you thinking?!?!?

Twisted
Long Distance Winner
Thousand Days
Battle Of The Dragon
Violet And Blue
Sweet Girl
Blue Lamp
Gold and Braid
Reconsider Me
Somebody Stand By Me
Sleeping Angel

That (is and) would be one kick-ass album if it had been released on its own!! Not a stinker in the bunch!

cool...

I love Disc 3!! You are so right, it would have been a great album. The sequencing is perfect. I would have MUCH preferred the soundtrack version of Twisted with LB, to the demo however. Was there a legal or clearance issue to prevent her from using that version? It rocks and I would say its one of my top three favorite SnL songs.
I am also a fan of Stevie's cover of Free Fallin, although I know that is not a popular opinion. I love listening to her pronunciations of certain words in that song, especially "valley" and "Ventura", also her harmonica playing is interesting to hear. If FF was included in your list and the duet version of Twisted substituted, wow, the disc would be perfection. In fact, I am going to go burn one like that right now!!!

I think Somebody Stand By Me has one of her best vocals ever. :sorry:

I'd surely get rid of Thousand Days. Her voice isn't very good on it and it's pretty much a mess.

I agree AND (gasp) I am not a fan of Vioet and Blue - I think it sounds like a demo

The vocal is great. I just think the song is horrid (sorry Sheryl).

Yeah, it is horrid. Sheryl's early stuff doesn't do a lot for me, though. Tuesday Night Music Club is pretty awful in spots. :o

Sweet Girl has its moments for me. I think "and you coming running out in the wind with me" and her somehwhat breathless, frantic, urgent delivery of it are just beautiful. I also like "fly through (across ?) the world in a golden ball." It is the chorus of the that I do not think is that great, even though I like it the song.

I would've added...

"In God's Garden" & "If You Ever Did Believe" to disc 3...Even "Real Tears" would have been acceptable.

I havent listened to "Enchanted" disc 3 in a long time, so guess I will be sticking it in one of my cd players today...

I agree. I like the Dance vocal better, though, because it has much more passion and power to it.

When she turns to LB and sing the running out in the wind with me line - SHEEBUS - sex on a stick  I think he sings harmony to it - I will have to go back and check.

Agreed. This is my favorite disc in the boxed set.
