Unhappy Workers Should Take Prozac --Bush Campaigner
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...mpaign_jobs_dc
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A campaign worker for President Bush said on Thursday American workers unhappy with low-quality jobs should find new ones -- or pop a Prozac to make themselves feel better. "Why don't they get new jobs if they're unhappy -- or go on Prozac?" said Susan Sheybani, an assistant to Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt. The comment was apparently directed to a colleague who was transferring a phone call from a reporter asking about job quality, and who overheard the remark. When told the Prozac comment had been overheard, Sheybani said: "Oh, I was just kidding." While recent employment growth has buoyed Bush's economic record, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) has argued the new jobs are not as good as those lost due to outsourcing in recent years. Nearly 1.1 million jobs have been lost since Bush took office in January 2001. |

If some asshole was to say that to me I would probably make 'em piss/s--t themselves as I held 'em off the floor & against the wall by their throat...By the way "I'm Not Kidding". The only new jobs I have seen created in my homestate of Oklahoma is more @#$%^@#$%@#$% jobs created by yet another @#$%^@#$%@#$% Wal-Mart opening... Brian j. |

Once again, although ya know I love ya gldstwmn more than my luggage, who amongst us has not said things like this in jest. Another mountain out of molehill IMO. Plus, this was a comment by a lay person and hardly rises to the level of W's policy, which you seem to be implying by grouping all of these people together. But, it was an interesting read!!!! |

More than your luggage? I feel so good about that. I think this is the prevailing attitude of the Bush campaign and further, his entire presidency. Hence the words of Dick Cheney to Pat Leahy. |

At first glance, this may just seem like an off-the-cuff remark by an unimportant peon in the Bush Dynasty. But in an election this close, comments of similar nature could really turn someone off to the whole administration, and make them vote for Kerry.
How can anyone who's lost their job to corporate "outsourcing" and downsizing in the past 4 years honestly vote for Bush? |
