I'll give you your props for that one, cliffdweller!

As all of you can probably tell, to say that I'm a Bowie fan is an understatement. I have ledge "connections" so I've been muscled into joining. Hope I don't offend with my overt Bowie sensibilities.

Cool Avatar!

And welcome to the boards. There are a lot of Bowie fans around here so I'm sure you'll feel at home.

Glad he's fine. Enough legend deaths in 2004.

WELCOME!

Cliffdweller, Livia, and myself are all big Bowie fans, so you should feel at home here. :xoxo:

And let me know where to get some Bowie bootlegs, dammit! No one wants to trade for 'em!

I am also a big Bowie fan

But ya can find Bowie bootlegs if you look in the right places (ie http://db.etree.org ) and submit a B&P trade offer (I could have a large amount of Bowie boots now, But usually the traders I deal with have other artists that I am even more interested in.)

There are tons of Bowie VCDs out there that I am dying to get, including a lot of Heathen and Reality shows, but all the people I've contacted have NEVER replied. Same with Blondie fans, a lot of 'em are some stingy folk. And I never knew you were a Bowie fan, Brian! If I *ever* get anything good, I'll let you know. I'll try that link. :wavey:

trading friend in Colorado who has the largest collection of Bowie material I have seen online, I plan trade him for some of his music in the very near future once the need for the FM 2004 shows dies down.

One thing I like about Mr.Bowie is his sense of humor that he showed on Conan O'Brien one night when Conan asked DB when he sings lullabyes to his child does he sing in a normal voice or his infamous "David Bowie vocal" to which DB replied "Of course my typical "David Bowie" vocal...'Lulla-bye, don't you...cry'".

Later, In the same interview, DB was asked by Conan what he bought for Iman for their anniversary his reply was hilarious but dead serious too "I bought my wife what she always wanted, A subscription to a Tennis magazine"

 He is funny. And he endorses bootlegs completely. He lets people come in with videocameras and digital recorders with no problem and ahs said hundreds of times how much he loves the bootleggers. It is about the msuic with him and I love him!!

reason he has a large following in the "bootleg/trade" circles, His open acceptance of bootlegs. I wished many other acts would go to the lengths DB has gone with letting fans boot his shows.

We are hoping to see DB when/if he comes through OKC.

ps-If ya ever saw the movie "A Knight's Tale" the best scene revolves around the song Bowie classic "Golden Years".

Totally agreed on the sense of humor. One of the many fantastic qualities Mr. Bowie possesses.
I remember when he was on Conan years ago for a performance promoting his Earthling album (looking extraordinarily wonderful with spiky hair and the like). I can't remember exactly what the gag was, but when he was being interviewed, there was a picture that Conan's lot put together that had an ear of corn singing at the mike in DB's clothes.... and David was laughing along all the while... He definitely has an appreciation for humor, however wacky.
That's my kind of man.

Did ya see...

the episode of Conan O'Brien where the whole episode was shot as "clay-mation"? It was hilarious, Even the clay version of David Bowie & his touring band was classic (Though the clay version of the drummer rarely ever used the splash & ride cymbals while playing...That was some funny s--t that night.)

Saw that, and can't believe I didn't remember it right off. Yes, that claymation was indeed hilarious. This is starting to turn into a Conan O'Brien thread. Although, I will admit - there's another man who deserves a shrine. He's a genius.

  Hilarious!! Gotta love that dry English humor!
