Avatars? Please help!

I'm trying to put an avatar next to my username and I'm having no luck. When I try to upload it from my computer, it keeps telling me the file is too large, even though I have it cropped to 50 by 50 pixels and it's only 3K large. :shrug: Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

Or is there an archive of ready-made avatars I can choose from?

Marty, I'm not sure how to attach the photo I'm trying to use, because it's on my hard drive, not out on a web site somewhere. When I click the icon to insert an image, it prompts me for an http:// address. The file is a little square JPEG of the Bare Trees cover, about 3K in size, that I made from a photo in the Discography section.

I've wanted to have an avatar for a while. I just went & got one from burnish.net & tried it & it didn't work. I'll try to attach it.

OK, I can post a picture, but does it have to be a certain size? If so, how do you resize it?

That looks okay to me.

1. Go to User CP
2. Click on Edit Avatar
3. Click browse, find your avatar (in your case pinks.gif.)
4. Click save changes

It should show up then. I can change the gif to a jpg file if that's the problem. I don't know if it is or not, but could someone lemme know and I can change it and attach it for you. :)
