Seven is the lucky number

Ever noticed that Fleetwood Mac’s biggest selling albums were each released 10 years apart?
Rumours in 1977, Tango In The Night in 1987 and The Dance in 1997.
And of course the band itself was formed in 1967 by Peter Green.
Weird eh?
Which means we only have to wait three more years before the band have another chart topping album!

I totally agree, Sharon! I've always been amused by the Rumours/TITN/Dance relase date similarities...
And although 3 years seems too short for our FM to get it done (factoring in solo activities and obligations first up), I feel that the next one will the very best yet!

PS: Is your avatar pic from Lost in Translation??

I was thinking about it today. All those albums marked a split in the band too. Rumours, saw the couples in the band split romantically. Tango saw Lindsey split from the band and Christine left after The Dance.
Hmmm…

Yes! It’s Charlotte from Lost In Translation. Great film.

I hope they'll get Chris back in the band!!! It would be a perfect album for 2007!!!

Let's not leave out 1967: John McVie took Bob Brunning's spot.

My typically cynical predictions for 2007: Christine returns to Fleetwood Mac and the band repeats the success of the Dance with another nostalgia package. This time even Finland gets excited and I will quit being a fan of the Rumours line-up because then it wouldn't be a lonely hobby around here anymore. ;)
The next split will be when Lindsey's pants split up on stage. :o

You DO all realise that if Lindsey reads this thread we will never EVER hear the end of the "cycles" speech....

:woohoo:

shackin'up 06-03-2004 12:15 PM

He dies on stage in 2027 during the last licks of his thousandth live-rendition of I'm So Afraid. It is filmed and you can buy it online after Will had put some overdubs on them. :o :D

Ahh see, that only reinforces my faith in cycles (just for Seteca) ;)

I do think it's weird though. I'm now expecting something spectacular for 2007!!

mylittledemon 06-04-2004 10:18 AM

2007!

I think we'll see something from this band by 2007. I think the band will finish the tour this year. Probably take 2005 off, and gear back up in mid-2006 for a new record. 2007 is the band's 40th Anniversary. They've GOT to do something.

Wow! That is quite the occasion...I didn't realize that landmark was approaching so quickly! (Of course every year, month, day, minute, and second this band survives is a landmark...and we love them for keepin' it together, come what may! :) )

How about Fleetwood Mac Fest Tour 2007...all of the past and present band members get together for a tour? Kinda like Macapalooza.

(It's funny (and an awfully big dream), but wouldn't it be great?!!! :] )

wondergirl9847 06-04-2004 01:12 PM

Macapalooza!! LOL

I wouldn't care if they had a concert in the friggin Colombian jungle, if all 16 members were there, Peter, Danny, Jeremy, Christine, etc...I AM THERE!! :blob1:
