Ho-hum Holmdel

Has hitting the latter half of her fifties gone to poor Stevie's head?

This was the first show where I really began to think she was acting older than her years - especially in contrast to the amazing, boundless energy that Mick & Lindsey put out there. Lots of shuffling and ambling and fairly bored-looking stationery tambourine shaking - a maypole for Lindsey to do cartwheels around.

I think she's getting so into being the Mac Mama that she's forgetting her sex appeal.

You're crazy...if you think age is getting to her now, certainly you did not see her on her 2001 TISL Tour, she IS doing cartwheels now compared to that tour...she's doing fine, she's 56...give her a break

Have you been reading this board the past week and a half? Stevie has been quite under the weather. In fact, she was wearing a throat patch all night with a scarf around it. I've seen her with more energy on this tour then some artists half her age. She's not feeling tip top shape right now, so please give her a break.

Come on, you guys. Keyjey is merely giving his/her opinion. The more opinions we get to read, the better. It's exciting & fun to hear positives & negatives side by side. It's a window into our very souls.

:distress: I know, David. It just upsets me when Stevie gets labeled as "old and tired" while Mick and Lindsey are still "wild men." That's who they've always been.... but I do understand it is his opinion. And I was not trying to get down his throat about it, just offering him an explaination as to why she might not have seemed "energetic" last night.

Um... Stevie is sick! Be greateful the concert wasn't cancelled!

Maybe she should have cancelled?

I suppose she could have cancelled? Actually, she seemed to be trying "really" hard to give it her all. Did you see her during the beginning of ISA? She looked positively spent. She was sitting on a stool, with her eyes closed, rocking back and forth and rubbing her throat. As soon as she got in front front of the mic, she gave it her all. Compared to the first leg of this tour, she ROCKED! There was alot of hip wiggling, eyebrow raising and butt shaking that was not there last May. I thought she was a trooper last night.

Sex appeal? She is lady, she's not Madonna and has never claimed to be.

Gypsy-Rhiannon 05-30-2004 01:57 PM

Er.. you can be a lady and have sex appeal!

Indeed you can. And can I just say, La Nicks rocks the clevage like no other. I hope I look as drop dead gorgeous as she does at 56.

Kayjey, while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you and I must have not been at the same show.

earthdreamer 05-30-2004 02:06 PM

Yeah, but I find someone being graceful and likes to have most of their clothes on more sexy than what is out there now, Stevie has really made me proud of being a fan of hers a through the years, because the way she carries herself.

But I digress

I thought she had a lot more energy for SYW than even when I saw her on the Enchanted tour... or maybe that was an off night. Definitely more energy than TISL, although that wasn't nearly as bad compared to the one show I caught for Enchanted. Did ya follow that? I was just thinkin and really not wanting to bring it up... buuuuttt... yanno the whole female thing that happens around 50. That's harsh man... I don't even know how she kept it up thru that. I'm in awe.

Okay, that's enuf from me. LOL!!

And let's not forget the standing-like-a-statue-with-lead-boots tour, aka the "Other Side of the Mirror" tour. Still, she could be leaning on a walker or sitting in a wheelchair; she would still be a commanding performer. Give Mama a break! Out of 120+ shows, there was only one show that was canceled due to illness. Britney didn't do that. Madonna has already canceled dates.

Okay, on a selfish note, let's hope she is popping her vitamins, taking echinacea and doing aromatherapy. I want to hear Silver Springs at Jones Beach next Sunday!

earthdreamer 05-30-2004 04:52 PM

I was hoping they'd throw "Silver Springs" back into the set too, and to the poster of this thread, it's okay we all have our own opinions, that is what makes it so much fun, the diversity, and not all things the same. You know what I mean?
