Deleted Posts: Ledge suffering from Mick board syndrome

In the Sara thread, posts were deleted by a moderator because they were deemed somehow offensive. It feels like Mick's board all over again.

Are we back to the censorship on this board again? I thought things had been going pretty well (especially since I haven't been starting too many fights) for the last year or so.

It seems senseless to delete posts. I think that kind of thing belongs on Mick Fleetwood's board, not here.

Ledge members should speak up about this (even if you agree with deleting posts).

Unless the posts are EXTREMELY offensive in a sexual or insulting manner, I see no reason for any kind of censorship around here. Just because a post isn't of a popular opinion, it doesn't mena that it should be removed. That's the whole purpose of a discussion board. And it does belong on Mick's board, not this place (of all places).

One of the posts as I recall was merely making fun of some folks who attended a FM show.

I've seen far worse here over the past year. Seems to me there was a bit of overreaction.

As Jackie Chiles would say, "This is outrageous."

I didn't take the post to be rude, all he was saying was that he wished he could hear the song over the screaming fans. I believe we can have discussions without being censored, we are all adults, after all.

And there has been much worse. Much, much worse.

I agree. I think it would be helpful if the censor(s) explained what specifically about the post was offensive and why it was offensive. In other words, let's have a report quoting the offensive parts and explaining why the are offensive.

Anything short of that is just Rumsfeldian.

Who is running this board, Asscroft?

That's kinda how I feel. What exactly did I miss here? Because I don't remember seeing anything that bad. Someone posted some comments criticizing certain concert goers who seem to be more interested in talking and exercising their harmony (un)skills rather than listening. Evidently someone responded, and it was all considered unacceptable.

I think the moderators here do a fantastic job. :)

Carne's only complaining because, well, he's always been On The Wrong Side. (See his sig.) :wavey:

That sentence really requires a comma. Don't worry, you're from a foreign country. You'll pick up the local language soon enough. ;)

My instinct is to call you a kiss-ass, but I won't. That might violate some rule or other. Besides, I like you anyway.

In all honesty it was my first instinct when I first read back what I'd posted.
