The Dealer is on Disc 2?

I saw the Amazon review of the TUSK reissue and if you look at the track listing track 16 of Disc 2 is the Dealer.

Here it is. "The Dealer" is indeed listed as being on Disc 2.

Hmm...

Cristian 03-13-2004 01:45 PM

Yeah hmm... that tracklisting looks weird. Did you guys look at disc 1? It has "Beautiful Child / Walk A Thin Line" listed as one single track, same with "Brown Eyes / Never Forget" (surely a small mistake), adds "Sisters Of The Moon" (single version) as a bonus track in the first disc... (thought all the bonus tracks were in disc 2???) It's quite strange. We'll just have to wait I suppose.

I hope that the Dealer is on Disc 2 and that there is only one version (US/UK)

Tom Petty's band plays on the versions recorded in February 1981, but I think we've got some earlier ones from the Village Recorder days in '78 or '79, with Stevie playing Christine's electric piano & possibly Mick on drums (it sounds like Mick to me).

Thanks David. I will have to check my stash of demos

Yeah...

there are quite a few versions of "The Dealer" in circulation...I prefer the 1978 FM version over the SN solo version.

Btw, according to AMG there is no listing of "The Dealer" on disc 2...Hopefully it will be there for all to hear.

I think that's the one with the better vocal, if I remember.
